Computer will not detect tablet!!!

[Android Central Question]

When I plug in my Nvidia Shield K1 into my computer it only charges.....
My old K1 was recognised by my computer immediately before so I don't know why this one won't work?

Please note these things.

1. I have tried a different cable and connector
2. It was purchased second hand and bootloader is already unlocked with TWRP installed.
3. Have installed all necessary drivers on computer
4. Have put tablet into developers mode
5. Have selected MTP on developer options
6. Nothing shows up in device manager

When you plug in your device, you should get a notification labeled charging. If you tap that, it should allow the device to be seen.

@Golfdriver97 Nothing pops up when I plug the tablet in, the battery icon in the top right changes to charging that's literally it

I can't remember if this step is needed, but do you have USB debugging enabled in developer options?

That should not have any kind of effect. I want to move back to the suggestion I had earlier. If you plug in the device, and pull the notification shade down, you should see a notification with an N icon and I believe the heading is Android system. You should actually see 2 notifications like that. The charging one might be closer to the bottom of the list.

Sorry for the delay. I usually take Sundays off the forums. I can't think of anything else to try, aside from reflashing the OS, and that may not help either.

You don't need to be rooted. A PC is required though. The reflash is done through fastboot commands.

Is there a local repair shop that you can take it to? See if they can test the port? Maybe even update the OS for you?
