Computer won't see Nexus

Have a Google Nexus phone running Jelly Bean.

I use Android File Transfer to transfer files from Mac to the phone.

For some reason now, the Mac will no longer see the phone. The phone doesn't even show the USB Connection in the notification bar. It was working fine and then I plugged it back in and nothing.

Restarted both computer and phone. Nothing. Plugged in my Nexus 7 and it works fine with Android File Transfer. I know the cable is connected since it shows charging on the phone.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue. The computer charges the device, but every once in a while will notice it as a device to add files too. Otherwise it has no clue it is connected. Anyone else experience this and a way to fix it?

If I had to guess it would be fault USB cable, try another. If that doesn't work it could be the phone's USB port... That would be bad... Try jiggling the cable around to see if you hear the device connecting (or trying) etc.
