concerning Battery Life & Heating up .... Z3 or HTC M8 ??

I have Galaxy s4 and I have problems with its heating, my phone heats up in uncomforting irritating way and the battery drops from 100% to 50% in just few min.
So i want to change it. I've read that Z3 battery life is good, but it heats up. ( somebody told me that's due to the water proof feature, Is that right ? )
Also I have been recommended with HTC M8. so I am asking people who used anyone of them. concerning the battery life and the overheating, which one is better??

Welcome to Android Central! My wife's M8 has never had an issue with an overheating battery. But the battery life has started to noticeably deteriorate after a little over a year, and she doesn't abuse the battery (i.e., she doesn't let it drain to zero or single digits on a regular basis).
