Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Again it is a complete rumor even though there are pictures of it but androidcentral is claiming that the HTC has been ordered and is in inventory. They also said that whom ever got the pictures also said the N1 is there too but no pics yet.

So if truly it is in the system does that mean its going to be sold in stores?

The N1 is in the Cellbrite system (which allows for the transfer of contacts between phones), not in the sales systems. It makes sense that VZW would allow people to transfer contacts both on and off the phone.

Right now there is no indication that VZW stores will stock the N1, so don't hold your breath :-) If you want the N1, play with the Incredible in a VZW store and then buy the N1 online.

I do not care if they give the Incredible away for free on VZW, I will still buy the N1 on the day it comes out.....I am hoping for Tuesday........we will see.

You do know that Nexus One is also from HTC, right? And N1 and Incredible are almost identical. Sense UI? you can disable that too. If VZW gives away Incredible for free, hell, I will get one right away. I understand you love Google, but Nexus One = Incredible = HTC.

Verizon Confirms HTC Incredible on Twitter: (See the story on Gizmodo--I can't post links yet)

I still would not be surprised if the Incredible turns out to be the Nexus One for VZW. Just like the HTC Eris was code named the Audiovox Desire, So I believe either the Nexus One and Incredible will launch this Tuesday or the Nexus One will launch and we will find out they were code naming it the incredible.

I think April will be the final month that Verizon will announce BOTH the HTC Incredible and the Nexus One...

The real question will be...

Will the Incredible match the success of the Droid?

Considering it (assuming by the specs) will be much better...

You know I was just on the google.com/phone page, and started thinking about it..... Imagine, once google has all the kinks worked out with all of the carriers and the N1 is on every network how it is going to BOOM!!! Imagine the rest of the superphones that will show up on the google marketplace that will be available on all of the networks. I think Apple can see the writing on the wall and that is why they all of a sudden are releasing a CDMA version. Apple started it all and now Google is going to take it from here......

Yes, both will be available on Verizon Wireless Network. However, Nexus One will be available on google.com and Incredible will be on Verizon Store, Verizon Wireless Network and Best Buy and other places which carry Verizon phones. And Verizon will promote Incredible like crazy.

I am not sure if Incredible will match the success of the Droid, since there's already a rumor that Iphone will be announce on June, that's only couple of months ago. And Nexus One probably sell little more but no where near the success of Incredible.

No matter how much you guys hate Iphone or you think Android is better than Iphone. In reality, Iphone is the king. And it took almost 3 years for competition to finally match with Iphone. I wonder what kind of new Iphone will be introduced on June, and wonder how long it will take the competition to match.

So I've been following this thread for a couple of weeks now. So is this thread about the Nexus One or the Incredible or the IPhone? I'm not disputing whether the IPhone is a great phone or when the Incredible comes out or anything, but the main point of this thread is the Nexus One.

I'm just throwing that out there. :D

The iPhone was definitely a revolutionary device. No question about that. BUT... IMO the android devices have now surpassed the iPhone. You can do so much more with it. Customize it to your specific liking. Widgets. Faster speeds and higher resolution screens. Not to mention you are not locked down to a single carrier. etc. I mean think about it.. is there anything you can do on the iPhone that you can't do on an Android device?

Ah gotcha. Ya that makes more sense then about these phones just being in the system to transfer contacts. Of course Verizon is going to allow phones to transfer contacts.

I plan on doing exactly what you said. I will go to Verizon and check out the incredible but most likely but the N1. Does anyone know if the incredible and the N1 are both running Synaptic ClearPad 2000?

**sorry cant post links yet**

Anyone see this post? Good things come to those who wait. So is that just meaning we are going to get a good phone in general or there is going to be something special about it?

My interpretation of the Verizon tweet was simply about new phones. Not necessarily something being special or different with the Verizon N1.

But I might be wrong.

is there anything you can do on the iPhone that you can't do on an Android device?

- voice dialing over bluetooth
- play iPhone purchased video content
- read Kindle books, Stanza books, books purchased on the Barnes & Noble Nook store
- Nike+ (I use this on my Nano now)
- thousands of games not available on Android
- watch live streaming games on MLB At Bat
- install apps to the full content of memory, rather than a restricted amount on board
- easily sync the music that I play and buy on the phone, so that I can keep track of the the things I have listened to recently, and move purchases onto my library
- play content off of a Sling box

This is just off the top of my head.

Don't get me wrong - I love my phone - but there is no doubt that the iPhone can do things that this cannot do.

I read something about google fixing the issue where apps are restricted to the phones memory in a future update. Anyone else hear of this, is it speculation or confirmed?

Seems to be a huge limitation considering most android phones have small amounts of on-board memory.

just read this:

ozcarguide.com/technology/cellphone-pda/2576-verizon-palm-htc-incredible-nexus-one]Verizon Dumps Palm To Make Room For HTC Incredible & Nexus One

(sorry im not allowed to paste the whole url yet as im new here)

They say that the incredibles are in warehouse and that the Nexus 1 is on the way. they also suggest Verizon is dumping Palm. I don't know if that's all palms forever or if its just their inventory.

Link and other articles on that site suggest that the Nexus One and Incredible are sitting in warehouses waiting the ITC to clear them for import... I didn't think they had issued an injunction yet have they?
