Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

I know that it still says on googles website that the nexus one is coming spring 2010 to Verizon. What do you guys think? Do you feel they are actually still going to sell it? I mean they just came out with the incredible which was exactly like the N1. And I feel it is getting better reviews and their is better support for it. There has been 0 news on the N1 in the past month so I dont know what is going on with it.

How about that I just went to pre-order the Incredible to check out the price and how about that $529 w/o a contract.....hmmmmm, where have I seen that before? Oh yeah the N1 is $529. I must say I look forward to seeing the CDMA version of the Nexus One. I am still on board with Google and will not yet be swayed. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing the N1 come available to us that have waited patiently........

@cesjr02 - on the Android Central homepage you'll see Phil doing a test which shows that the Inc. screen is issue free. I want to wait and see what the surprise is with the CDMA Nexus because of it's look and feel but I'm finding it harder and harder to wait.

Thanks, I must have missed that part in the video.

The multitouch test on the home page here just sold me on the Incredible. I'm waiting until the 29th at the latest, but on the 29th, I will be the owner of one of these two phones. Here's hoping for a fixed N1.

I am honestly not sure how you can keep saying that every single Tuesday. I am waiting until the end of the month to make my decision after seeing what's available or been announced but I am not hopeful of anything anymore.

Preordered my Incredible. FINALLY one of these phones is actually coming to fruition. Been trying to find a new phone since November.

I awoke feeling very optimistic about today. I have always found a reason or two for the Nexus One to come out every Tuesday and pretty much ran out of reasons until now.

With the Incredible launching on Verizon, I would not be at all surprised if Verizon made Google wait. And now that you can pre-order the Incredible it gives VZW the head start and I do not see any reason why Google would have to wait any longer. The Incredible has gotten a full review and thumbs up from everyone, so where is the threat of the Nexus One.

Not to mention HTC is the builder of both phones and was probably some how tied into those conversations.

It has been several weeks since Google launched the Car Dock, and so there is really nothing left to happen except release the phone. The only other option I see if it does not launch today would be May 4th. Following the actual release of the Incredible but I feel really good about today.

So GOOGLE bring it on, lets get this rolling.............. :)

Does anyone think that it's a possibility that they are producing the phones with a better display(as far as multi-touch goes)? With VZW testing everything...and obviously testing the Incredible and the N1 around the same time, they had to see that the Incredible's touch screen worked as it should and the N1 has a hiccup due to a physically different display. I'm pretty gung-ho on the Nexus One but seeing that it's screen was something that couldn't be fixed with a software update...took be back a bit. I come from carrying a iPod touch for my mobile pleasure, so multi-touch has become very important to me. I'm still going to wait, but man...kind of a kick in the balls.

everyone's also assuming the hardware will be the same for the VZW N1 as it is for the TMob/AT&T ones

but the fact is they had to rebuild it to put the CDMA radio in it....whats to say they also didn't replace/upgrade other bits too...

I still think the N1's worth waiting for :)

Make complete sense, but who knows anymore. I do hope for this. I planned on ordering the CDMA retail version the day it dropped, but now I really have to wait for evidence that the display has been taking care of. I know it sounds petty, but multi-touch has become very important to me.

I am also looking forward to seeing what changes will have been made to the CDMA N1. Hopefully we find out verrrrry sooooon.

Its not what people make it out to be. Sure, it isn't as good as the iPhone's but nothing is. It really isn't a problem, and this is coming from a former iPhone user. If you're basing your decision NOT to purchase because of this issue, then you're not going to be happy with ANY non-iPhone multi-touch device.

Again, the 'problems' in the nexus one are NOTHING the regular user will notice. I have yet to have any problems with the touch panel. Just because the Incredible's screen is better doesn't mean the N1's is 'worse'.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Incredible internals packed into the N1's case. They're already 95% the same, and swapping out certain components would be easy enough.
