Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Google can be pretty unpredictable. Remember when they released the N1's car dock in the late evening. I'm not saying the N1 will be released around the same time frame, but I really wouldn't be surprised if it arrived anytime of day.

I hope they dont partner with Motorola. I have always thought(no matter how good the build quality is) they look cheap and for some odd reason they decide to hire the worst designers. HTC is just fine for me and they make great handsets.

Most of Moto's Chinese Android sets are amazing design-wise. They're definitely light-years ahead of where they were with the razr.

So, I have another question. Everybody is saying no voice and data at the same time. But I said this earlier, there is a phone that was recently spotted, that looked like it might have had dual radio indicators...as a matter of fact I am going to find that link right now..hold on a second............okay so I searched, but can't remember where I read it. It was on one of these Android sites, so I know somebody else saw it. Anyway, my point is, if they find a way to get this dual radio capability into the N1, why then is it still no possible to do voice and data? Can't they just set each radio for each specific use? Or again...am I just crazy?

With Verizon is its kinda hard to use your ESN twice at the same time.

Thusly why there hasn't been a dual radio system yet.

It would be PAINFUL but it's got some logic to it. If the surprise is Froyo and if we expect Froyo to be announced at this conference... I'm sure we won't see ANYTHING about the N1 for VZW until after April 29th at the earliest. A friend of mine who works at Google told me that the phone was supposed to be announced on March 23rd so now he has no idea when we can expect it. I just hope it's soon! I wanted to wait for the N1 and it's surprise before buying an Incredible because the N1 is better build, better looking, and will receive updates more quickly but DAMN it's getting hard to hold off.

Well according to the confidentiality letter from HTC to FCC, HTC requested the FCC to keep the product confidential until April 30th 2010...so if it doesn't come by then, at least we'll may have an opportunity to see if anything has change but the radio.

Did not know that. Pretty exciting. Maybe it'll come out on the 30th. My rep did say SHORTLY after the incred.

Hmm... great find. I wonder why HTC would have a request for confidentiality. I mean, if the general public is to assume the only change is the radio. Why hide other details? Or am I missing something obvious here.

They just dont want any sort of details to leak. If they didnt request for this then they could probably leaks details about how they have changed the internals or anything of the phone. Verizon probably requested that HTC did this and doesn't leak anything so that the INC can get out first

I'm sure it probably standard procedure to request a time frame of confidentiality, so they can figure out marketing and such. I mean if you read through the documents this phone was submitted to the FCC on January 8th or so and didn't get tested until the middle of February. And you'll also notice that product pictures are missing out of the documents...the photos are referenced in the table of contents, but are missing where it says it should be. So my guess now is May 4th.

Whoever knows to to find and read that FCC stuff should be on those files ASAP when they become public. If they show nothing but the radio and related components have changed I think it's fair for us to assume that Froyo is the surprise.
