Confirmed: Verizon Nexus One Cancelled

Well I am going to back off and stop looking for awhile and just be happy with my Eris. It was nice waiting for the N1 because it took my mind off the update for the Eris...lol.

as long as it has taken, I seriously doubt this version will ever be released to verizon because it is getting outdated more and more every week. Verizon will probably just sell the incredible and hold off on Nexus, until google comes out with a new version. IMO

I forgot that my VZW 2yr contract doesn't end till 5/31/10, so even if I did want to jump ship I'd have to wait till then w/o paying penalties. So, if the Incredible/N1 aren't till Q3, I'm thinking about going with the Eris.

Chuck, you like the Eris? I played with one a little back in Feb and liked it but when I heard N1 might be coming, I held off. I hate the bulky Droid, but think the Eris might be "ok" for the interim. I hate to use my NE2 $100 up on the Eris and not Incredible, but at least I can get the Eris for free now :)

:( I got real excited for about 0.5 seconds when I clicked on the N1 website and saw there was a news update. Then realized it wasn't a VZW version of the N1. :(:(:(

I recently cancelled my service with verizon to save my new contract phone price to be for the Nexus one, or upcoming Blackberry 9650. I know this doesn't mean a whole lot but thought i would share some excerpts.

" I apologize as I do not have information on plans for us to offer the Nexus One or the Blackberry Tour 9650 in the near future."

"I make it my personal goal to resolve all of your wireless concerns. I hope I have done that today by advising you that we do not have information on plans to offer the Nexus One or the Blackberry Tour 9650 in the near future."

nickacs- you can get an eris for about 200 on ebay. Don't waste your NE2 on the eris. I have the eris as well and am anxiously waiting to dump it for the nexus or Incredible, probably nexus.

Same here. The Eris just ain't cuttin' it. At first I really liked it. But it's just so doggy, and it's too small. Can't stand how jumpy it is when scrolling. It will be nice to have that extra half inch of screen on the N1 or Incredible.

Went down to the local failing mall where there is a Verizon shop and a Sprint shop - both said that the N1 was months away. Sprint guy said they were still manufacturing them.

Then again the Verizon guy hadn't heard about the HTC Incredible...

Either way I figure its a ways off ;).

I have not had any issue with my Eris and I prefer is to the bulky Moto Driod. I have updated to the latest 2.1 leaked rom and it is the closest the N1 before I can actually get my hands on an actual N1.

I doubt it means anything..

but I had a dream last night that I was able to purchase my N1 for VZW today :P

here's to more wishful thinking!

I know Google is trying to do things differently with the release of the Nexus one made available through their web page, but i started to wonder what if T-mobile got some kind of deal with them where they would be the only Carrier that offers subsidizing for the typical 6 months? I know we don't want to believe Google would do such a thing but maybe for a Carrier to subsidize it they had to submit to T-mobile's wishes and since T-mobile got a deal with the G1...
Anyway just a thought but if so that would mean the N1 wouldn't be available till the 5th of June which is still in their Spring time frame, not that i want to believe that but time will tell I guess...

After all how long can it take to change the radio hardware and release the next version.. The FCC approved it back in February.

75 more days until summer, so anyone who thinks the phone could come out today has a 1 in 75 chance. Everyday the odds get better, but here is hoping you dreams come true...

Just a thought but isn't vodafone rumored to be getting the N1 on April 16th? That would be next Friday. Since we are all hanging around debating on the release date this would be another thing to try and pay attention to.

When and where did you hear that Vodaphone was getting it on the 16th?

I was listening to a Tech radio show and one of the hosts mentioned it. I was only asking a question because I don't know myself if it was a rumor. This is the closest I could find online that this rumor may have been created from.

I can't post links yet but just start with the standard W's

there will be no n1 this week...i'll catch you guys next Monday in anticipation for an April 13th release date.

So it seems like Google likes Tuesday to release everything....I thought they would release the car dock at the same time they released the CDMA version, but once again I was wrong....I hopes it comes out today...
