Confirmed, we have the worst still camera...

I noticed that after I take a picture and I goes to the gallery and you reopen it the picture seems not as bright as when you took it. I don't know why its doing that.

sorry we all missed this question.

if I'm not mistaken, the reason your photo seems a little dark after you took the picture and are trying to view it from your gallery is that you have the screen brightness turned down. try turning up the brightness to see if this helps.

Lol I just tried it and that worked.. I should have thought of that one thanks

Now I have to go back and change the settings again, after I set it back to the default settings.

All comes down to the software, with a lil tuning the EVO 3d camera is just as good as any other, its only a cell phone, you want "professional" pictures then use an actual camera not a cell phone with a camera, megapixels don't mean a whole lot when it comes to cell phones anyways, and once u figure out the settings you will c, as far as any auto settings yea they are Crap,

That comment is total BS.

If anyone is interested in rooting, some ROMs can really boost the camera performance. It's as farfrom out of the box as you can get, but your 3VO can have an 8-megapixel camera with some work....

in the link located in the original post you can clearly see that the evo3d had a test photo far sharper then the number one choice. it's depth of field is better. look at the eyes on the girl's face, the type on the nerf toy. all that and more in "under the best" lighting conditions.
the whole shot pretty much sucks for all the cameras tested in one way or another. you did look at the tests, right?

BS? maybe in your eyes.

I agree with Linz, everything isn't equal. Our camera is below average. You just cannot compare this camera to the one on the mytouch4gslide or the iPhone 4/4s. It takes decent photos in the right conditions, but don't say it's on par with the best
Out there. That's just a falsehood.

I'm not just saying it's on par with the mytouch4g as listed in the tests, I'm saying it blows it away in sharpness, contrast, saturation, and dynamic range. (based on the tests you've listed)

clearly your eyes can't see the difference. that's ok. I can't dance. it's no big deal, realy. ;)

I have to agree with what others have said. Rooting is the key. Some roms out right now have great camera software. Far superior than the stock sense camera. It is like night and day really. Including hdr and panoramic capabilities.

I agree that the modded HTC camera sw I installed has better default settings and more options. I also installed a modded version of the music player too.

I understand that a lot of people don't want to or just aren't interested in rooting and modding. For me, it is a hobby. Hardly a day goes by that I'm not changing something on one of my phones. If there is a feature I don't like or want to change, I find a way to fix it! This is why I love Android. I am never bored with it.

Think about it. All of those apps are out there for a reason. Some are just for fun, like games. But many are for useful things like task management. No one phone or configuration is going to please everyone. So, people say, "Hey, I want my phone to do X," and create an app for it. Nothing wrong with that. Necessity is the mother of invention!

Are you already rooted? If so, you don't necessarily have to run a specific ROM. Right now I am still on updated stock. I just installed modded versions of the camera and music player.
