Confused with the new update that Sprint is rolling out.

I don't know if it is permanent but I clicked on the notification, went to /cache, removed the .zip update file, went back to the notification, asked it to install, had it reboot to recovery and fail, and booted into android. It stopped bugging me and stopped trying to download after that.

sfhub:

Can I download Terminal app from the market and type this in to disable the notification:

"pm disable com.samsung"

This is from this link:

[PORT][TeamVeNuM]Battery Saver Script - SUPERFREEZE - xda-developers
If people said it works then it probably does. pm disable is the same thing as "freezing" an app in Titanium, so you could do that also.

I'm not saying it would happen with this particular app, but I've found in the past that sometimes I disable one thing to get rid of some annoyance and find out later that that app was handling more than that one annoyance when something else unrelated doesn't work.
