This has been quite a very interesting year in the Android world as far as the devices go, especially the very competitive mid-ranger market. We have the Zenfone 2 which was announced at CES in January and yet Asus took (or had to take) this incremental global release step all the way into the beginning of Q3.
The irony comes in where the more popular smartphone brands such as Samsung and HTC released their flagships globally more efficiently, but so far it's not really any better since they have more major shortcomings than the Zenfone 2. So the "Zen" element comes in strongly here, haha.
In the case of the (ever overrated) Galaxy S6/Edge, many owners have had to exchange that device at least 3 times for faults, both minor and major. Most current Zenfone 2 owners haven't needed to do that other than getting a more LTE-compatibile model. Yes, there have been a few cases of serious faults and the popular bugs, but that's to be expected all across the board for first releases.
Generally though, from the testimonies of the owners, it's a very stable and well made device. And for only a fraction of the common flagship price, there's just not really much to complain about.
These were just my observations and thoughts for those who cared to read them.
