Congratulations youve won scam pop ups

[Android Central Question]

I have Android 7 on my notice g5. When rushing I accidentally clicked "ok" on a "congratulations you've won" type pop up. (I thought it was "X" to remove it). I now get these pop ups every time I access this one site. I'm concerned my phone has been compromised. I've tried everything to remove them with no luck. Security scans say my phone is "safe" possibly because Google/chrome has given the necessary permissions for the sites that pop up and there's no option to change or block them. Help I've found online isn't relevant or doesn't work. I'm worried about what these pop ups are doing to my device without me knowing. If anyone has a solution for this I'd be really grateful. I hope this makes sense, I don't know all the correct terms.
