There is a new app called ReverseTether, that allows you to access your computer's internet connection via usb on your android - reverse tether.

The process is very straight forward and simple and it doesn't require any tech savviness or installing extra software or ADB/debugging, or creating a wifi hotspot, and it works with all OSs.

And your connection looks like 3G so that all your apps work seamlessly including Market, Downloads and Talk. it requires a rooted device, however.

You can check it out here in action in this video: (Update: It's not showing for some reason: the id is iAkUSMyTpcA)

Great idea & looks pretty good, I watched the vid

couple of questions;

what software is needed for the PC?

Size of software for PC??

Can you make a Portable App for PC?

Does it leave traces on PC?

Good work

thanks in advance

As I said in my original post, it doesn't require any additional software installation on your PC. So 0 traces :)
You just need your device drivers of course, which you've probably already installed to sync stuff.
And then follow the simple guide in the app to set it up the first time...

Off Topic: Does anyone know why I can't see the youtube video in my original post?
The page is forever loading. Does anyone else see it?
