Connecting equipment

[Android Central Question]

Hello.
I have a beelink Gt1 ultimate android TV box. Is it safe to connect an Aver Media-
130 USB recorder in series (between the TV box and my TV set) ?
The beelink has HDMI out, the recorder has HDMI in and out and the TV has HDMI in.
I tried once and TV box "asked" to be restarted and I got concerned and removed
the recorder.
I will appreciate your advice.
