Constantly losing data connection

Is there any way...

i have to agree with leslie. most of the time it is an application like battery savers that affect it my solution is the following.
dial *#*#4636#*#*
as soon as u press the last * it will go in to the hidden menu.
click on phone information and hit the "menu"/"settings" button and press "select radio band" the application will force close
go into phone info again n scroll down to 'set preferred network type' n change it to 'CDMA only' then back to 'CDMA auto(PRL)' . this will also fix the bug of the 'cell phone stand by' taking up more then 50% of the battery use. these changes arent permanent so you will have to repeat this after a reboot

@ unkuser- is there any way to modify your "Restart Mobile Network" script to use the above method of toggling the data? I've found that when I use this method, I often go a day or more before having to reset again.

Just curious!

Posted this on the LG forums, figured it might help some people here too, who knows.

Possible solution at least for some people:

Ok, I did some more testing and again, the only thing that could get the 3G symbol to show was rebooting. I figured what was happening was that while the phone was restarting it connected to the data network, then one of my programs was turning it off. And it looks like I may have been right.

I have a program called Extended Controls that lets you create sets of widgets to toggle certain things like volume/vibrate, airplane mode, bluetooth, etc. Well one of the toggles was data connection. I added that to the set of toggles and noticed it was dim/greyed out (which means it's off). So I tapped it and look at that, 3G is connected!

And when I went into the phone's options, the data connection was on, so maybe this program was overriding the phone's internal options?

So I honestly don't know how I disabled the data connection, perhaps I was messing around in extended controls and turned it off but I don't recall doing that.

This is a possible solution for those who, like me, had no data connection at all. Those who cycle Airplane Mode on and off and get a connection may not find use with this. But I'd install Extended Controls and give it a shot, see if the data connection is labeled as off. Even if you don't have EC installed, it might not hurt to install it as the toggles will give you a visual on what the settings are on your phone.

One more point is that I just discovered this about an hour ago, so I can't say if this will be a permanent fix or not.
