Contact Image Resolution for SIII?

I just got a new S3 and I'm loving it, except one small thing. There is no way to get a nice looking contact image for the contacts. My iPhone does such a great job here!

Well can anyone tell me the exact resolution and dimensions for the contact image for S3?

Read somewhere its 500x500, but it's stupid. Kills the whole resolution and image looks pixelated. Anyone with a solution?

no idea mate. theres an app "image shrink lite" but think that would do the opposite of what you want

I think this should work out of the box. And it's no way dependent on network. I'm wondering how come no one tried to ask this question.

is it when someone is ringing you that you notice it or in contact list?
wanting things to work perfectly "out the box" is typical of an iphone user and i dont mean that in a bad way, bein able to/having to modify things is more of a benefit than a loss i think

Yes contact image. You see it when someone calls. A big image.

theres an app called like "full screen caller picture" or some shjt like that but duno if it would help...

Try haxsync. It's in the playstore and it's a paid app but does the job.

I know there are 3rd party apps which will do the job, but I'm wondering what happened to Samsung for this small nice feature. This should have an inbuilt feature.

how bad is the resolution?
i honestly cant say ive noticed but ive used android a long time so maybe not an s3 problem.
like can you make out who the person is or is it like theyre made of lego? im fairly sure youll find an app to help mate

I noticed that too. But the resolution is only bad when the pic is automatically synchronized from facebook.
I chose the pictures manually, one by one, and the problem was solved.
It takes some of your time, but after that everyone is beautiful in your contacts.

Its bad enough to be noticeable and annoying. Galaxy note too has same issue. hope it gets fixed soon as it not some hidden novelty feature, but something that everyone expects to work fine.

I use SyncMyPix for syncing my contacts from Facebook. I think it's not bad IMO. -- and it is also free BTW.
