Contact Shortcuts on Home screen?

I know I'm probably overlooking something incredibly easy, but how do you put the stupid contacts on the home screen as a short cut????

Hold down on a blank spot on your screen and select widgets and then there will be a contacts widget where you can select your contact widget/shortcut on your home screen. You can move it around like an app.
