whenever I try to open my contacts I get a force stop message I've tried restarting and has not worked, any ideas?
I'm thinking this might be due to a corrupt contact. Also, since you cannot open the app, you can't do an export of your data to back it up. I see two possibilities... one is to try a factory reset. The other is to go into apps/allapps/people and clear data. Then try again. Both of these would lose the contacts on your phone, so you might want to check you have a backup, either on Google or elsewhere. If your Google contacts look okay, export them into a file for potential recovery efforts. When you export it will write a new file, without the corrupt data, if any. You can later use this file for import.whenever I try to open my contacts I get a force stop message I've tried restarting and has not worked, any ideas?
If I were in your situation, I would export all three types that Google is capable of exporting -- .CSV (in Google and Outlook flavor) and .VCF (vCard Format, this is the native Thunderbolt format). That way you'll have all the formats if multiple attempts are required. The TBolt should easily accept the .vcf for import though. 'Course, I have almost 800 contacts. If I had less than 15 I'd probably just reenter them manuallySounds good I will definatly try the clear data, what kind of file would I export them too to do the recovery?
Sorry, no other ideas.got rid of all my contacts and still having this issue.... any other ideas?
really not wanting to do a factory reset...
Did you install that new leaked version of Google+ (2.0)? If so, thats probably your issue. Remove it and your contact will work fine again (If you did iinstall it)
The music app works fine but yeah the new Google+ is causing the FC on contacts issue with ALOT of people![]()
