Were the contacts previously saved as "Mobile" or "Home" numbers on your previous smartphone? Because if not, this could be the reason the numbers aren't showing up.

I had a similar issue a while back with contacts. I ended up having to edit the spreadsheet and remove all columns that didn't have matches. To see what is importing/exporting, add a contact to your Google address book online with phone numbers, ie; home, mobile, etc. The export that list to a spreadsheet and compare it to the one you originally created. You should then be able to determine what columns to delete, edit, etc.
