I'm not familiar with the phone manufacturer but is it possible that under the settings for contacts it has options for SIM or something similar where it's not showing phone numbers that you are saving under the phone itself. I know some phones have like different settings of what to display for contacts

Welcome to Android Central! I think Bkdodger1 is on the right track. Open your Contacts app and look for an option to select which account to show.

The Contacts app should have an option somewhere to select which accounts to display. The options will usually be to show contacts from your Google account only (which you'll see in the list as your Gmail address), from any other account that might be syncing to the phone (like an Outlook Exchange), from your local Phone account (often called something like "My Contacts"), or from "All Contacts" (which combines all of them).

It can be difficult to tell you exactly where to look if you're using the Oppo Contacts app (because I'm not directly familiar with that one. You can share a screenshot of what the Contacts app looks like, but make sure to block out any identifying information first. http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html

I see you haven't replied yet, does that mean you've figured it out or haven't replied because of some other reason?

I would like to recommend that you save contacts to an account verses choosing Phone. Phone contacts will migrate with you to other devices if you upgrade or change devices but if the phone is lost stolen or damaged you will lose those contacts because they are literally on the phone, where contacts saved to your Google account will be backed up to the cloud and can be recovered from anywhere you can log into Google, and they will follow you from device to device as you upgrade and change devices.

I see the advice for you to "select an account" and this will change from app to app but for both Samsung and Google's Contact app this option is at the top of the screen. In the Samsung app it's 3 stacked dots, and the option is called "View by storage location", when I open this it shows me options to view All contacts, this would be contacts from all of my connected sources, Phone, just contacts saved to the phone, probably the way you have been saving them, and then my accounts associated with an email, like my Google account. In the Google Contact app it is a drop-down menu under the search bar. In the Google app the options are similar but again each app will name things a little differently, All contacts, the ones only saved to my Google account, and Device, which is the equivalent to Phone. How you are describing. So when they say to choose an account they mean to open a setting like I've described and change it to either Phone to find the ones you've saved or set it to all, and that should show you all of them.

There are several apps on the Play Store that you could use but since we're all already sharing with Google why bring another information thief into the mix, am I right? Plus Google Contacts is likely already installed on your device. A white background with a two blue guys, one light and one darker shadowing one another.

Let us know if you've found your missing contacts, what app you're using, OPPO's Contact app or Google or whatever. Then we'll go from there.
