Contacts problem

When I first imported my contacts they didn't show up so I kept trying needless to say It looks like I have 4 copies or so,can anybody tell me how to fix this?

Were you syncing with your Gmail account? If so simply remove your account and add it back. If you are syncing with your computer then it's a different story.
