contacts transfer from Evo 4G to Galaxy s4

Getting ready to upgrade. Sam's Club will port the number, but apparently can't help with transfer of contacts and other phone content. I know how to save contacts to the SD card and assume the s4 will let me upload contacts from the SD card. Just looking for verification from those with more experience in these matters. Thanks!

Yes you can export the contacts to SDCARD and then import them back onto your new device using the same process or importing them via your Gmail account from desktop computer.
