Continuing alert - how to turn off

Never had an alert continue to notify me until I either looked at the phone/message/notification, etc. Usually, it makes a sound once and that's it. How do I stop it from repeating?

Are you sure it's the notification you think it is? I had a notification that kept going off and after some investigation, I figured out it was a completely unrelated app that was set to give notifications

Go to Settings, Accessibility and look at Notification Reminder. If it's on, turn it off.
