Hey all,
I just wanted to share some helpfull information with anyone interested, maybe save some cash if you allready have the parts. Im using my Seidio HTC Evo 3D dock with my AT&T HTC ONE X. All I had to do was clip off the right corner just a bit and it fits perfectly. Sturdy, perfect angle and it activates the Dock mode as well. My Old Evo still fits with no problem with the case on too. Pics below. Let me know if you have any questions.

So the dock has a male microUSB plug that plugs into the phone? or does it have the contact charge ports?

The size difference is very minimal, if the micro USB is placed in the same location I say it should fit.

EVO 4G LTE
134.8 mm (5.31 in) H
68.9 mm (2.71 in) W
8.9 mm (0.35 in) D

AT&T HTC ONE X
134.36 mm (5.290 in) H
69.9 mm (2.75 in) W
9.3 mm (0.37 in) D

Does this activate car dock mode or desktop dock mode??

Can you take pictures of the connections inside and maybe measure them with a multi-meter??

It would help other members, including myself, to mod their docks to activate desktop dock mode.

Thanks!

It activates desktop dock mode just like on the Evo 3D. I opened it once before and there's a small resistor by the micro USB plug that activates it. I have the dock at work but if you like I can have pictures on Monday if you wish.

That would be perfect, thanks!
Could you see what colour or numbers are on the resister and which pins it goes too?

hey, I had the same question as ximonx.
U bought a KiDiGi dock, loved the design, but it just won't activate dock mode...

The only one I found that activate One X's Desk Dock mode is in this post.
I bought a 47K ohms resistor, tried to solder it between pin 4(ID) & 5(GND), pin 3(D+) & 5, pin 2(D-) & 5, I even tried to short pin 4 & 5 (following the instructions in Car dock for HTC mobile phones ), but all in vain....

Could you post further details about which 2 pins should the resistor soldered to,
or, ximonx did you figure out how to do it? can you share with us? that'd be appreciated!

Thanks
Matt

The resistor on the male micro-usb side goes to the two cables from the right (orange on left, yellow on right). If they follow the same layout out of the resistor board they should be pins 3 and 5 counting from the left.

Hello,
thanks for the prompt reply,
I believe that connecting the resistor between pin 4 & 5 is the correct way, most of the articles I found online stated the same. So I have tried again today, connecting 47k ohms resistor between my pin 4 to pin 5, and plug it into my previous phone - HTC Amaze 4G (T-mobile), and it WORKED! enters the dock mode immediately.

Plug it into my HTC One X, however, nothing happened....:'(
Tried again connecting the resistor between pin 3 & 5, or pin 2 & 5, still nothing.
I even tried several resistors, including 820 ohms, 4.7k, 5.1k, 22k, 27k, 33k, 47k, 68k, 100k ohms, all in vain.
The only thing worked is 10k ohms, which activated the CAR Mode, not the Dock mode.

I guess HTC made some modifications to the new One X, or there is something to do with the ICS.

p.s. I am using an international ONE X bought in Taiwan, maybe the one worked is AT&T's ONE XL ?

Not a problem. I do have the AT&T version. Im not sure why its not working for you. When I place it on the desktop dock even withought power it switches to dock mode. Even the old Evo 3D Car dock places it on the Car Dock mode too. In the app drawer there is a shortcut for the Car Dock but I dont see any for the Desktop Dock.
