Convince me on why to get gs3 over the iphone 5

Simple... because the iPhone 5 is not even out... :D

I say wait it out and see. The next iPhone will be a damn good phone just like the S III. Coming from someone that likes both Android & iOS. I must say iOS is very very VERY responsive, iCloud is AMAZING, you get little to NO LAG and the apps are more polished IMO. I like Android for the Customization, Toggles and having a bigger screen is a plus. Yeah iOS 6 is kind of a letdown compared to 4.1 but that shouldn’t stop you from buying it. I’m definitely buying the next iPhone on release day. So wait it out and see what you like best. September/October is right around the corner.

I know more iPhone users who have jumped ship to Android than vice verus. All my iPhone using friends are jealous of my Galaxy S and almost all have switched to Android and the rest planing on the switch when their upgrades come in. And they are happier than when they had the iPhone.

Um are you kidding? I have heard on the Apple forums every year that the next iPhone is the Android killer.

They are more Android phones sold and activated every day than the iPhone. They are more people who switch from iPhone to Android than the other way around this is a fact.

Are you kidding me? Apple is the same why with OS updates.

Can't afford Apple products? Please. The high end Android phone such as the Galaxy Nexus and the S3 so on and so forth cost the same as the new iPhone on a two year contract. If you buy the Galaxy S3 you are in the same boat as the iPhone you will have the best phone for a year until the new version comes out.

Non relevant device in a year? You mean the iPhone. You buy the iPhone 5(6) now and the next year the phone is non relevant and out of date.

Android is playing catch up to Apple? Please. Apple is playing catch up with Android. Looking at iOS 5, the features added in iOS 5 were in Android and had been for years, example scroll down notification bar. It is the same thing with iOS 6 so if anyone is playing catch up it is Apple and Cnet,Engadet, and even Apple bloggers agree. Android phones have had LTE since the first LTE network was launched and have had 4g WiMax even longer than that. Apple has yet to launch a 4g lte phone. Android also had 3G before the iPhone.

Android isn't laggy like you suggest unless you buy a low end phone. If you have owned the Thunderbolt, Incredible like you suggest you know this. You have never owned an android phone or are lying about the one you own.

Apple release and iOS update every month to fix various bugs and the majority of which doesn't fix the bugs. The major Android upgrades like Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean are pretty much once a year just like iOS.

You have your facts all wrong.

Actually you are wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong with all your facts and your view is not objective it is bias.

The iPhone is inferior to Android.

Iphone advantages: If you keep your phone through the full 2 year contract it will have the latest version of the OS on it the nano second it is released. That's it, I can't think of any other advantage.

Galaxy SIII advantage: Widgets allow you to quickly view information or control your music apps and settings.

Expandable memory. You can pop in a 64 gig micro sd card. Since the unlimited data plans are going bye bye it is not practical to stream music it would be better to load your collection on the phone. SIII has the most storage capacity out of any phone I know.

Bigger screen, you can see it without having to use a microscope.

Apps for Android are getting better, most of the best ios apps are on android now. Also apps are cheaper and more are free.

Android notifications are far better, even die hard apple fans admit that.

If you don't like it change it. That's the great thing with android. If you don't like the keyboard change it, if you hate the launcher change it, if you hate the SMS app change it, if you hate the dialer change it.

ios 6 is behind gingerbread. Fortunately SIII has ICS and should have jellybean on it in 6 to 8 months. Yeah that's slow but even if it takes 9999999999999 years for samsung to update the SIII it will still always have a more powerful, user friendly OS than the iphone

I went from a Samsung Galaxy version 1 to iphone 3gs. The iOS updates were not exciting because it was more of the same. Any apps worth having cost money. I left the dark side and got myself a Droid Razr Maxx. BEST DECISION EVER! It is exciting to have a phone that when the OS is updated, there are new toys to play with. Even with Gingerbread, the phone is so much more customizable. Get the Galaxy or a Razr Maxx and you won't be disappointed. You may not be disappointed with the iPhone, but you'll be back for sure!

Nothing wrong with the iphone at all, it's built well, reliable and has better apps than android hands down. Better gaming by a mile as well.

However, we all have our own reasons for our purchase so asking someone to help you decide isn't really a wise idea. I choose android because basically I can customize it how I want, I'm not tied to jtunes and I have a huge option of screens. I can download any file with Firefox browser and do so much more. Since I don't game, I down worry about that. I'm also notoriously cheap a day android has a ton of free apps so that makes my decision much higher easier. Do what makes you happy and don't ask others who have a different preference than you.

I don't own an S III, but it's silly anyone would ask which phone to get considering Apple has been tight-lipped as to what the iPhone 5 will include. We all know (or think we know) that it'll be a taller phone due to LTE radios needing more space, and we know Siri will be improved.. Other than that, I'm sure your typical phone upgrades will be in there: better resolution, better processor, better camera.

If you love iPhones, wait for the 5. If you love Android, get the S III- you're talking about apples and oranges here.

iOS apps crash more according to the most recent statistics. The screen is smaller, you can't choose your keyboard preference, browser default, you can't drag and drop media, can't send files over bluetooth, there is no file manager, the front facing camera is only .3 megapixels, the 4s is underclocked to 800 megahertz, there are no widgets, it doesn't truly multi-task, no micro SD support, no removable battery- have fun with your overpriced & under performing dumbphone lo

Haha! Awesome.

You cannot assume ANY of the rumors of the iPhone 5 are true. Most of them usually aren't.

My first and only smartphone was the DROID x which I loved. I have been reading rumors and specs on the gs3 since March. I have always thought I would end up with the phone. Recently I have been reading a lot on the iphone 5. I understand that these answers will be incredibly biased but assuming all the rumors of the iphone 5 are true, why should I get the gs3? Thanks!

The "Next iPhone" Will be LTE, Thinner, Lighter, Somewhat of a new design, Dual Core if not Quad Core with 1 or 2 GB of Ram. New Retina display with a bigger screen (4.?inch wide screen) with iOS 6 and same UI (eh).
If the Galaxy S III in your opinion is better then what I listed above, buy the S III. Both will be AMAZING phones.

Its like trying to pick between a Ferrari and a lambo. Both are amazing top notch cars in the same class but some ppl prefer one over the other. Ur not gonna lose either way. Its not like picking between a Hyundai or a lambo lol

It depends on what you want. So far besides ios having certain games android doesn't have and the fact that the iphone 5 will be a smaller phone in the hand which some people like, I don't see any big reason to choose one over the other only to choose which phone suits you better.

but if you are going just for a smaller phone.. there is TONS of android devices to choose from. The main reason i hate ios. is that you get what THEY want you to have. I mean if your cool with people telling you what you can and cant do then apple is right for you! ( that is not against you that is to anyone)

It's all about personal preference. I plan on picking up the next iPhone just to try it, but right now I love my s3 .sold my 4s for it and don't regret it one bit , no one can tell yu what phone is right for yu but yourself go for which one you will enjoying using the most

I'm hearing same WIDTH, just taller. No thanks...

"The bigger screen" IPhone5 is a myth until it hits the shelves. Big screen phones werent and will not be the IPhone way. Seeing is believing.
