I think the number 1 issue with the iphone 5 at the moment is that it doesn't exist.

No one said "useless". But who wants to by a product for $199/$299 and 3 months down the line, some other guy is able to spend the same amount of money or less to get a product much better than yours? No

Yes, okay, antenna issues which were corrected. You named one bug. Now how about you name all of the extra bugs/glitches associated with Android devices, which include antenna issues?

lol, "dude, but i have widgets!!" The same lame selling point most Android fanboys use. In reality, no one cares. Plus, some of the widgets don't even seamlessly integrate with the functionality of the OS that great. If your main purpose of buying a phone is to play with widgets and multitask, you have another issue. What are you multiasking on a 4" screen anyway? Are you managing someones network? Are you doing intense video editing? Performing network scans while running a defrag and playing Call of Duty? lol, just get a computer if you want to multitask. Only really so much people want to do on a phone. But Fandroids scream about all of the things you can do, but things people rarely use. How about the simple things, like holding a data connection? Clear voice quality? Sending texts when we press send and not sending to random folks in the address book?

LTE. Most phones still spend most of their time on 3G due to the LTE on off switching/data connection issues. Plus, once more folks jump on LTE, the speed won't be such as "breakthrough". They've already started throttling folks. lol. LTE is still a work in progress buddy, don't make it as if it's what makes or breaks a user experience. Oh yeah, and the Iphone 5 will have LTE, and most likely manage the battery issue better than any android device.

Yes, i'm trolling. Because i give an objective view. If you don't support an inferior product such as android, you are brainwashed and are trolling. Got it .lol
Honestly your view doesn't seem so "objective" to me. I'm sure you'll tell me I'm wrong though.

I think SteveNeedsaJob has too much time on his hands. Maybe his iPhone isn't providing the entertainment or validation he so desperately craves.

Copy/paste...flash for the camera...a real notification system? How long did iPhone users wait for these simple features? Android fans like the OS cause they know that they won't have to wait forever for these features to be included. Can an iPhone user even Swype a text message if they choose? iOS works just fine and for a long time it was much more fluid than Android. at the moment ICS and now jellybean have bridged the gap by leaps and bounds. And sorry to burst Steve's bubble, but the iPad I was using with my students today at work froze today and we had to reset it. My iOS fanboy staff member had no excuse and I had a good laugh since he likes to troll all the time about how apple is perfect in every way. On a side note I am thankful for the iPad because it has done wonders for the communication needs for the autistic students I work with.

In summary, if you don't have the patience to figure things out on your own, need to run to the so called geniuses every time something goes wrong instead of using the internet to help yourself, or are intimidated by technology, get an iPhone. I'm glad they make a great product for that type of consumer. I'm also glad there's phones for those like myself that like to tinker (and don't want what I have to look exactly like everyone else's phone).

For the record there will never be an iPhone killer because the segment of the population that it suits their needs well is simply too large.

While we don't know what hardware the next iPhone will have, we do know what software it'll run and iOS 6...

Because in general, that's what most Android fanboys are....jerks. Constantly berating their own fellow members for even contemplating going to a better experience. They are either jealous, have nothing better to do or can't afford apple products. Apple users are NEVER worried about android customers and their experience. Why? Because they are satisfied with their product and it works the way it should. Android users are the ones always looking to jump ship to something else. Don't blame them, as google changes hardware/software more than a toddler soils pampers. Buy an android device today, it's successor is out in 3-4 months. Buy an Apple product, you're guranteed at least the 1 and a half years of the contract before you're eligible to early upgrade.

Why are there so many android tablets that no one buys? Why are there so many android phones? Many of them suck in regards to hardware and the OS are filled with bugs/glitches. Hence, the constant updates of froyo, gingerbread, ice cream sandwich, jelly bean, eclair, slurpee and whatever else google wants to name them. The updates fix one issue, only to introduce others. Freezing/lagging/data connection drops/phone call quality/battery life/voice recognition/volume etc. It's the same forumula which will never change. Google has the idiots in their back pockets. Continue to release numerous software versions/phones and people will get excited. Folks will buy the phone, love it for a few weeks, realize the crippling weaknesses of the devices, whine and complain on forums about how this promised breakthrough android device will be the "IPHONE Killer" just to jump to another device and start the love/hate frustration all over again.

Another question.....why is there always a potential "Iphone killer", but never Apple users say "Hey, this next Iphone will be the Android Samsung, Motorola, HTC killer!"??? Because Android is ALWAYS trying to catch up to the apple user experience, fluidness, functionality and technology.

If you want something that works, can guarantee that it will be relevant in 2 years, has superior build quality, is a PHONE first handheld computer second, then get the iphone.

If you want headaches, a non relevant device in a year, gradual slowing of performance over time, bugs, issues, promises of updates that don't come, and altogether cease support, get one of the million available android devices that are out.

So many speak on how many android devices "crush" apples devices when it comes to performance specs. Again, does it really matter if the user experience lacks? Fanboys love specs, smart consumers love design, ingenuity and success.

Android users are those guys raving about horsepower. Apple users are the ones who accept that horsepower isn't everything, and you can still get there faster and more efficiently with less.

You can trust me. I've owned the original Droid, Incredible and Thunderbolt.

Just make the right choice the first time and be done with it. Go with apple, no matter if it's the 4S or the 5. Or in a couple of months, you'll be on another forum posting this same question.

Glad I could help

Normally I just ignore Fanboys Gone Wild, but this is plain stupid enough that wasting my time is probably warranted.

I've owned a Droid Incredible - the original AMOLED version - since replacing it with the new Samsung Galaxy S III with Verizon. That's over two years of ownership and the only reason I upgraded now was because Verizon put a due date on upgrades that could still grandfather unlimited data plans.

My Incredible was great for the first year with stock software, but then I saw all the other hardware out there and wondered if my phone could take Gingerbread (before it was applied) and even more. So, I easily rooted and unlocked the phone, then tried various ROMs for a couple months, finally settling on a Sense-less stock Gingerbread ROM that was stripped of Verizon bloat.

How difficult to install ROMs? Well, I sometimes started a new install waiting at red lights while driving. Super easy.

For my next year and beyond, I had a fresh, brand new phone and used Go Launcher EX (from the Play store, nothing complicated) for my primary UI. It's still running now and I love the darn thing - plus, it had the added benefit of running easily with my relatives' iPhone 4s for most operations. Plus, I could easily share photos and videos with any method I desired (and, I did desire to), compared to their abstractly limited iOS choices.

My widgets - incredibly easy to install and use - gave me weather, calendar, Facebook, various community/board updates, RSS feeds, news, etc. - at a glance on only a few screens to scroll through. No opening of a new app context needed for these simple, immediate sources of data.

And, lo and behold, apps ran in the background to unzip, download+install, etc. while I did other things. Never a worry on even Gingerbread.

So, I call shenanigans on your slant above, because it stinks of being highly trollish for no good purposes: you aren't providing advice, but offering upside-downism to cause a skirmish. Instead, it's absolutely laughable nonsense if taken even remotely seriously: e.g., it's a problem that Android devices continue to grow in capability, while iPhones stay highly conservative and offer drips of updates rather than huge chunks of progressive capabilities for those so inclined? How does one respond to such utter backwardsisms except to call out "Troll !"?

Another example: you decide to completely lie and offer that Google changes s/w and h/w specifications + products so often and aribitrarily that they are breaking all past devices and leaving prior apps to deal with incompatibilities. Of course, Google is not the central or dominant device manufacturer of Android products, instead being the base OS provider who also comes out with its own devices once in awhile. Oh, and my Droid Incredible ran Gingerbread with advanced Sense that was only productized by HTC on later (and more powerful) devices, but had no problems in doing so - a small bit of lag added, but that was expected and normal . . . the OS and Sense 3+ ran without bugs on my phone, plus all apps I've had over the years have run on every level of Android OS installed on my Incredible.

So, you're a dirty liar and just trolling. Not a fanboy. Not just a troll. A knowing liar.

I have little to no respect for liars.

I read this and two things came to mind. #1, this person has already decided on the icrap and is just trying to get positive reinforcement to support the decision. #2, this person is an Apple employee in disguise trolling to find out what people like and dislike about the gs3 so they can take it back to their uh hummm research and development department so they know what to put in their next phone and what to leave out

Not sure if I am an Android fanboy, but you could say that I am pro Android. Started out on Palm, then to windows mobile, to WebOS and on Android for now. I was more than willing to jump to IOS, as soon as they came up with something groundbreaking. Thanks to all of Apple's ridiculous lawsuits, I don't see that happening for now. I also don't have a problem going to Windows 8. Which ever platform that I feel offers the best features for my hard earned cash at the time of my upgrade is who I end up going with. Now for those who like staring at a grid of icons all day...life must be boring?

I love when I'm browsing the web on my iPad and Safari freezes up. And when I'm playing a game and the touchscreen stops responding. My favorite is when I exit an app and my homescreen glitches up so I can only open apps in my dock until I reboot.

Honestly I have more problems on my iPad than I do my Galaxy Nexus. Apps crash more on iOS than Android. (Do iOS Apps Crash More Than Android Apps? A Data Dive - Forbes) Android is known more for apps crashing because you get a notification you have to dismiss every time it happens. On iOS you're just brought back to the homescreen so you don't think much of it. And my iPad may never reboot on its own, but when I'm forced to reboot it to fix my homescreen bug, what's the difference?

It depends on what you want. So far besides ios having certain games android doesn't have and the fact that the iphone 5 will be a smaller phone in the hand which some people like, I don't see any big reason to choose one over the other only to choose which phone suits you better.

As for games, am I the only one that thinks gaming on touch screen devices is terrible due to lack of precise control?

The iPhone 5 doesn't exist yet. iOS 6 was a huge letdown. Despite all the tech sites calling it the 5 it likely won't be called 5 since it's actually the 6th iPhone. Don't be surprised if it's not the 'new iPhone' or the 4G S after seeing iOS 6 preview.

Can't decide which is worse. The person asking to be convinced or the people actually trying to convince the person asking to be convinced.

Can we just lock this thread??? iTards are not worth our time

Please, let's not devolve into name calling.

As for the question, well...

iOS6 is Gingerbread. Android (ICS) is more advanced than it. Jelly Bean is light years more advanced than it.

That's why :).
