Convince me to get a LG G4 instead of a Galaxy S6.

I love the back buttons. They feel totally natural whereas the side buttons just get in the way (for me).

It also felt initially big to me but I'm getting used to it, but without question it does take up more pocket real estate than smaller ones, not sure how crazy I am about that.

BTW...I'm coming from Samsung phones, just wanted a change and I have no regrets yet.

Update...I never got used to the size. I tried to convince myself that it was fine and I'd settle in with it, but almost 6 months later has confirmed my feelings that I'm going back to a smaller phone after this one. I don't like carrying around a giant slab all the time, until someone else comes out with a smaller phone looks like iPhone or Sony Compact will be my next moves. Someone please come out with a smaller phone again.

I just got my g4yesterday and I was also torn between those two devices!! It was gonna be one of em. I chose this one and so far it's great. The back buttons do take some getting used to but I think I'll come to appreciate them. I also switched to T-Mobile from Verizon. For around $90 I get 6gigs of data, unlimited calls texts, and all The free music streaming (spotify, Pandora, don't go against your data) and also the cost of paying off this phone. So twice as much data and a new phone for less than I was paying on Big Red. Good luck with your choice!

Both phones have a lot of aspects where they are very close, with one having an edge in one area, the other in another. To me, that wasn't what made up my mind because I knew either one would be plenty good in those areas (screen, camera, software, etc). What did it for me were the features that were exclusives, that the other phone just didn't have, period. I weighed what the S6 had that the G4 didn't, and visa versa. I thought I really wanted the fingerprint scanner on the S6, but decided in the long run, it wasn't as important as the G4's back buttons, removable battery and SD card that the Samsung lacked.

The back buttons are great for the reasons other folks have mentioned, but also because you can program them to launch features when the phone's asleep. The G4 comes preprogrammed to launch the camera with a double tap of the Volume Down button, and I installed an app that launches the flashlight with a double tap of the top button (great when picking up dog **** at 6:00 AM!) They're also just more intuitive and easier to press the right button to me than side buttons.

SD card will add storage much cheaper than Samsung, and can be removed. Extra battery can be swapped in seconds, and replaced by you when it wears out (I HATE Apple for starting this trend). And, down the road, higher capacity batteries will come on the market...sorry Samsung ;).

A minor difference that may or may not matter to you is the curve of the G4, which keeps the screen from touching the surface I put it down on. These things are not available on the S6. All the other hardware features, other than the Samsung's Home Button/Finger Print Scanner are really comparable and very subjective. Does the Samsung feel more "premium" than a non-leather G4? Maybe, but I put a thin case on mine and now the difference boils down to the feel of the case I pick.

Weigh what the G4 has that the Samsung doesn't, and visa versa - Back buttons, removable battery and SD card, curved screen on the LG, or Home button/fingerprint scanner on the Samsung - which would be more important to you?

Great deal on your plan! T-Mo is really trying to steal Verizon's customers and offers some great packages now. I had bad luck with their network, but if they're good in your area, you definitely win ;).

no one needs to be "convinced" to get a G4. You either like the specs or not. For me it was exactly what I was looking for. Totally happy.

I had an S6 for about 3 months. My 3 biggest issues with it were:

- Battery Life - By far the worst battery life I've ever experienced with a smartphone. There was no chance of making it through a full day (15 hours) without charging at some point in the afternoon.
- Signal strength - The only other phone I've had that dropped the signal in my house regularly was a Pre 3 (RIP).
- The phone was extremely laggy

On the plus side, I really liked the look and feel of the phone and the camera was amazing!

I've had a G4 for 3 weeks now and haven't experienced any real problems. The camera doesn't seem quite as good as the S6 but it's close. Battery life is excellent. (I had a Note 4 between the S6 and the G4 and the battery life is surprisingly comparable). The expandable storage is a nice bonus as I only had a 32GB S6.

The S6 was the first Samsung phone that I couldn't wait to get rid of. I've especially enjoyed the Note series but think I'm going to skip the Note 5. That is my 2 cents.
