As I am scrolling through articles, etc... This is coming up every time I lift my finger off the screen. It just started this evening and I have no idea what I did to prompt it to begin. Any ideas?

Immediately. I know historically with Android on all my other phones, if you tap and hold, this comes up. but this is sort of annoying the way its working now.
I need to do some more tesing... now I can't seem to replicate the issue, aside from one specific post on Facebook. its odd.
I notice the same thing after i update my facebook. Its annoying i thought it was my phone. But scrolling on other website or other apps the "copy text" doesnt pop up like what it is on facebook app
i have the same concerns as yours. it's really annoying for the "copy text" to pop-up every time i scroll down. any luck in removing it? let me know... i'm also figuring things on my own but let me know if you succeeded. Thanks!
I have also just started encountering this, only on Facebook's app. Specifically only within individual posts, not on general timeline scrolling.
I am also having the same issue. It started yesterday. As far as I know, its only doing it with Facebook.
This is happening on my Note 7 as well as my husband's S7. Several other friends are seeing it too, but I don't know their phone models.
It happens when I an reading a long Facebook post in the Facebook app. If there's a long post and I tap "Continue Reading", the Copy Text button pops up as I scroll. It doesn't happen while scrolling through my timeline or reading comments on a post.

It seems it's a Facebook issue. I'm in the Facebook beta program, maybe that's why I found it sooner and everyone else is getting it recently.
I was looking it up and found this article. It's doing me the same way. It just started in the past few days. I have a s7 edge. I hope they fix it soon!!

If everyone is only noticing this on Facebook, then definitely send Facebook feedback, either through the app or via email: android-support@fb.com
I'm having the exact same issue on my huawei mate s. And it's definitely only on the main Facebook app - I don't have this issue scrolling the same posts on mini
