Could it get any worse?

Well Yesterday I got the awesome surprise of 4G! My area has not been announced as a market and my local store told me on Thursday that it was being put off until December! Well I do not need to worry about slow 3g anymore as I get about 16mb down now!

A little better I guess, but I was also in a different room than the last one

If I don't have 4g, the 3g sputters in and out between 1x and is usually always decently shatty lol its always worst while I'm at class, which are what those two tests are from

@potatolover's 3G revision A network recommendation worked well for me. I live in a poor signal area and get only weak 3G reception in my home (about 0.3 Mbps download, 0.2 Mbps upload). Revision A tripled my download speeds and doubled upload speeds, still not blazing fast, but the difference between not usable and able to stream video.

This also reduced the "time without signal" to 0% from normally 2 to 5%. I'm sure this will reduce the number of dropped and "direct to voicemail" calls I experience.

Nice! But this will have no effect on calls, this is for mobile data only... data and voice are two completely separate things and use different radios and operate completely independently of each other, for the time being, eventually things may move to VoLTE (Voice over LTE) but that is a while off yet.

What you say makes good sense. I typically run on WiFi at home with Mobile Network off. I still receive calls and SMS even when I leave the house. I figure it saves the battery not having to hunt for a Mobile Network signal.

About 2 months ago, I got a Verizon phone survey after discussing my bill. It asked on a scale of 1 to 5 if I would recommend Verizon to others. I said "2". To my surprise,at the end of the survey, it asked me to explain my low score on that question. I said I live in a "strong" 4G area, yet I can't get 4G in or outside my house, yet do get it at the end of my block.

Again to my surprise, I got a call from Verizon the next day asking for more information about my reception issues. The rep said she'd open a case and I may get future calls to further troubleshoot my problem. I didn't expect much, and never received another call. I did start monitoring my signal strength and "time without signal" just to get a baseline and see if it ever changed. I noticed I would never get below 2% time without signal, often higher.

After switching to Revision A 5 days ago, I've yet to see ANY time without signal. It could be Verizon made a change that affected my reception exactly at the same time I switched to Revision A. But whatever the reason, I'll take it!

That has to be an all time worst record holder lol! I would like to test my theory here which greatly increased my 3g speed. Dial ##778 and the edit mode and the code is 000000 then modem settings and go to Rev. A and choose enable then hit the menu button and hit commit and let it re start and then do the speed test. I did the same and my speeds went up literally 10x. Something about Ehrpd does not seem to sit well with this phone from what I have seen. I went from 150kb with full bars to 1500kb and higher ever since changing it. I would like to see if it does the same for you to help back me up and you will always get better speeds as well.

Is this safe for anyone with a Rezound to do? I wouldn't mind getting better 4G speeds. Or, was this just to improve 3G?

Well this class is only once a week, and it got canceled for the past two. But I'm finally back and this is the results I got, compared to the original post's
