This could be a worthy replacement for our Nexus. (only if it comes to Verizon, hopefully)

* 4.8-inc "full HD" display with a 1080p resolution

* 16:9 aspect ratio

* 1.5 GHz QUAD CORE Samsung Exynos processor

* 8-megapixel camera in the back and 2-megapixel camera up front

* Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)

* 4G LTE

i come to love the whole Nexus concept so much (no bloat and unbelievable developer support), I don't think I'll ever want the next new hottie, unless it's a Nexus.

Aren't these the specs for the Galaxy S III?

Galaxy S3 indeed. The specs do looks sexy, especially a 1080p screen (omgggmgmgmggmg). I wonder how the battery on it will be.

I like my Nexus tho, no S3 for me.

I can tell you straight up that the chances of Verizon getting this are practically Null.

Would anyone be able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen this size? It sounds like a waste of GPU power to me. I would rather have a hopped up GPU that can blow through everything you can throw at it on a 720p screen then a 1080p screen with lower framerates.

But, if it's got Ubuntu for Android on it, then when you plug it into an hdmi dock, you get a 1080p desktop experience. Now that's exciting.

If you have a 1080p capable monitor. I have never docked an android to an external screen, but wouldnt it automatically adjust to the screen's native resolution anyway, regardless of whether or not the phone itself has a 1080p screen, or no?

The next Nexus will not have 4.0 on it. One of the main points of the nexus line is to show off new versions of Android.

You won't see a 1080p screen on a phone for quite some time. It is absurdly costly to do so.

And you will never see a Nexus with an Exynos.

And as has already been pointed out, just plain absurd.

You will not be able to see the difference between 720 and 1080 on a 5" display unless you're using a loupe.

The specs on that are spiffy, but unless it's pure Android and on Verizon, it doesn't appeal to me. Plus the GN is wonderful, at least to me, and I definitely don't see myself having any urges to change phones (until upgrade time rolls around, anyway, and hopefully by some miraculous chance the next Nexus will be on Verizon again).

"The Galaxy S III isn't expected to launch for another couple of months. Indeed, the reason Samsung chose not to unveil it at MWC was because the company didn't want too much time to pass between the unveiling and the actual launch of the device."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! ! ! ! :banghead:

Oh fool me twice...

You forgot one bullet point.

* No updates

I'm betting with those specs the battery will last exactly 34 minutes.

Because we've only got 1 update and we're already 1 entire OS version ahead of everyone else? Give me a break..

Yea, and ICS has been out how long now, 3 months? Why does the Nexus S STILL not have an official version yet? I'm just sayin.. let's not act like Nexus is guaranteed to get timely updates when others aren't because clearly the Nexus S users are getting hosed right now.
