"Couldn't play the track you requested" When trying to download tracks from Google Drive

Whenever I attempt to download from Google Drive, a window that tries to play the song flashes up, before disappearing and giving me this error message, and the track is not downloaded. Before, the tracks would download in no time. I've tried resetting my app preferences and clearing my Google Play music cache and it's still doing this.

Have you tried uploading them to Google Play Music? They let you store tens of thousands of tracks and it won't count against your Drive allowance.

Welcome to Android Central! Instead of tapping the file, tap the overflow menu button the right of it in the file listing (i.e., the 3 vertical dots). Then tap Download.
