cover the front camera and a clock and notifications shows up on the sleep screen...

I had my phone in front of the computer today and I noticed a clock kept popping up on the black sleep screen. I figured out if I cover the front camera,(it senses light to dark) the phone shows a clock and notifications. It takes a second for it to pop up. Then if you swipe while the time is up, the lock screen pops up. Sometimes you don't even have to swipe, the lock screen just pops up, so I'm not quite sure how that's working. Anybody else seen this and are there any adjustments for it? It's kind of cool, but I wish the time would pop up faster. Sometimes I just like to see what time it is quick.

Also strange that this would happen, I mean, does this mean every time I put it in a case with a cover the clock shows up when I close the cover? Seems like it should be the other way around.

Advice? Thoughts?

It's called quick glance. It's a touch wiz feature that can be toggled on and off in your settings
