Cracked the screen of Samsung Galaxy S4 and the screen in now black with green

I have a galaxy s4 and I have dropped it a few times on harder surfaces and from greater heights. However quite recently it fell on concrete from a distance of about 4 cm and the screen got cracked. Its not a huge crack, just a few small ones less than 1 cm but it probably fell in a weird way and the the screen in now black with a little bit of green colour showing.

- I can feel it vibrate when I remove the battery pack and start it up
- The LED lights show up when I charge it
- The sound works booting up
- When I press the home button, the menu and back button light up

So I was wondering if I can replace my screen and other other broken bits with parts from an old samsung galaxy S4 (owned by a friend and is exactly similar to mine).

Welcome to AC.

Theoretically yes, but you would have to have the practical ability to do it....with no disrespect meant. We often hear of unsuccessful DIY attempts here in the forums.
Also, can you be sure that there is no damage other than that to the screen?
