I'd ditching my iPhone 3GS. I can't WAIT for a phone that can actually make/receive calls. Irregardless of the decent iPhone hardware, it's so very badly hampered by the worst cell service I've had in 20 years. Adios iPhone, hello EVO.

It kinda makes since that most people (including me) are switching from a webOS device.

1. The software is GREAT but we're starving for better hardware. I think we're starting to see that great software will not overshadow sub-par hardware (Palm Pre/Pixi).

2. Most of the WebOS users were early adopters.. so that means that our one year upgrade is coming right around this time.

I have a question for the current webOS users. Is it the general consensus that most of you will switch back to webOS if Palm comes out with another phone with comparable specs to the Evo?

I'm switching from an iPhone 3Gs. I really like the iPhone, but having had a Hero for a short time, I really like the Android OS better than iPhone OS. The Hero was underpowered so I went back to my iPhone, but now it looks like I'll be able to have Android with a phone that has plenty of power and speed!

Also, I had been a Sprint customer for several years before switching to AT&T for the iPhone. While I haven't had any of the coverage issues that many people complain about with AT&T, I look forward to saving quite a bit of money per month on the Sprint plan (even with the $10 add-on).

Switching from AT&T and an iPhone 3Gs. I've always been a big Google fella but had an iPhone since it debuted. I was waiting for a phone like the Evo to finally pull me away from the iPhone, and most importantly, AT&T.

Switched from iPhone 3GS to Incredible (just wanted to try out android w/ Sense). I was blown away, no looking back on the decision to leave the iPhone. I really wanted to switch to the EVO but Sprint coverage is questionable in my area of West TN so I am trying out the Incredible on my family's account and love it along with the awesome coverage. I am really hoping Sprint can hook me when I try the EVO out for the 30 days! Would be awesome with the great prices and discount through my work!! Not to mention using the EVO!!!

I feel a little guilty, but I'm switching from the Pre. I love WebOs, I love Palm but the hardware is just not competitive. With the Pre Plus barely being released at AT&T, I feel like it will be a while before anything new from them is announced.

I'm about 85% of the way to switching from AT&T and my iPhone. I'll wait a week or so to find out what the 4G coverage is like here and also find out a few other details with Sprint and home access points. IF the coverage is good and they offer a home wireless router solution then I'm in to try out the Evo. If no 4G is available I'll wait it out and see what the new iPhone has to offer before deciding.

The Evo for me, is the first Android phone that offers a compelling reason to switch. I just hope Sprint can deliver as a network on it's 4G promises not only in coverage but in actual speeds. Hotspot features and paying a premium for data is meaningless if 4G doesn't preform faster than AT&T's 3G currently does in my area. 2mb+ DL speeds are not uncommon, I hope 4G is what it's been hyped up to be.

Palm Pre user from day one. I think webOS is great, but I think the hardware was lacking. Also add the fact that the SDK and developers still don't have access to hardware pieces like the microphone, bothers me a bit.

I like the size of the Evo (a friend has the HD2 and I think it is great), and while Android may not be as nice as webOS, it is still a good platform and has good momentum. I'll be watching HP and what they do with webOS, but for now, it's Android and Evo's turn with me, and we'll see where thing are next year.

in same boat, palm pre day 1 and bought it without an upgrade bonus , dont even want to say how much I paid outright..........

but yeh i agree webos is great, just needed bigger screen, and the extra ram the plus had. Palm is taking to long to come up with another phone so EVO here i come

I am switching from the Blackberry Storm 1 that I bought on launch day. Oh how I long for a new phone each and every day...

A Palm 755p. I've been looking at the Pre and WebOS for a year and a half (since it's announcement). This was the summer that I planned to upgrade. Sadly, Palm did not upgrade. Fortunately, Android has taken off and has some nice features and a great phone in the EVO 4G.

I'll be switching over from the iPhone. I've used one since launch and I love it, but there is something about the EVO that I just can't get out of my head. This has been the first phone to come along that I will give up my iPhone for.
