Custom rom fixes phone issues?

Been reading alot of reviews and some of the negatives are throwing me off, does anyone with a custom rom/kernel on the triumph see improvements with reception, the back button problem, and bat life? I guess basically what im asking is are the problems with the phone currently software or hardware?

many of the problems are software.

slow gps lock, low quality video and audio recording. random restarts. laggy interface. etc, etc.

reception I presume to be hardware though, so I wouldn't get my hopes up on that being resolved with a software update.

any idea if the reception is worse/better than the intercept? thats what im currently using

The reception is very good, possibly a little inferior to the Optimus but definitely as good as the Intercept or better.

And there is a fix-all made by the illustrious b_randon14. It's available at xda-forums
