Custom tones for email notifications

I THOUGHT I used to be able to copy an MP3 to the Ringtones folder on the Droid Turbo and use it as the notification for a particular email account. I had to reset my phone and so had to recopy the files. Only problem is, now I cannot pick my MP3 file for the notification. Is there a different location I need to copy the MP3 file to? Thanks in advance.

Notification tones have to be in a folder called "notifications". The ringtones folder is for phone call ringtones only. Apps like email apps use notification tones, not ringtones.
