Customer reviews of the Note 8

Eating my words a little bit. Every trip to Best Buy I check out the Note 8 again and again. It's so much nicer to hold them the S8+ (in my opinion). I still really dislike the fps location and the height but the phone feels amazing to hold.

I'm definitely waiting on the V30 but the Note is a serious contender for my money.
Just curious as to what you are waiting for in the V30?

I really like the wide angle lense, all the camera features really. The overall size, the finger print sensor location, HiFi DAC...

I was just snapping some pics with the Note 8 and they're really amazing. The zoom lense is kinda lost on me though.

I have heard about the Hifi DAC. I'm not really certain what it is or how it augments the sound, but I like the way the sound comes in through the Note 8.

I love panorama mode. Anyone who can take a good panorama has no need for a wide angle lens

It's just so easy to switch back and forth between regular and wide angle. Either way, I'll wait till I can hope both phones and decide. Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

I agree on all points... I like the look of the size and 2:1 ratio being in between an S8 and S8+ and if the camera performs as well as it's touted, with the new OLED screen and DAC, I think the phone could be the sleeper phone of the year over the S8 and S8+ and at rumored $750.

If you want the pen then the Note 8 is the only choice but there are so many deals try not to buy full price.

If your an audiophile and music quality takes precedence over pen and you also have high end headphones you want to use on your phone the the DAC will be important. I'm not into audio so using a BT headset while on my runs is fine by me.

So far so good. This phone is super fast. Screen and build is amazing. Better than the s8 plus I had. Still setting it up though. Been a busy weekend and I just got it yesterday. I was able to trade in my iPhone 5 to att and got 300 dollars in credits which I used to get a gear s3 frontier.

Overall as of now I am loving the Note 8 and now that I got a light saber sound for when I eject the s pen I'm super stoked.

Uh... sounds cool... how does one get the light saber sound for their S-Pen?

Had the phone since late Tuesday, and just now have finally got it all set up, or mostly. Really loving it. The screen, the camera, which has so far managed a couple of really good shots of my never still two year old grandson, the sound is good and loud. The Spen, of course. The fingerprint sensor annoyed me for two days and now I'm used to it. It works most of the time, depending on my getting my finger actually covering it. The iris scanner works well, too. It's a really great phone.

Coming from the S8+ I can say that it is definitely an upgrade. The screen is brighter. Everything is more responsive including bixby, lyft driver app which was part of complaints on s8+. I probably need to format the s8+ with a possible software glitch causing issues. Its also possible the OS the N8 is running is making a difference in addition to the 6gig ram. Running the phone as normal I have 1.5gigs free where the s8+ was usually at 600mb free. Thats still plenty for it to run smooth but it wasnt.

Batter is still to early to test but it seems to be on par or within 2% lower than s8+ during use. However I had to keep using the phone non stop in order for it run down so that i could charge it back up while in standby or late at night.

While the phone doesn't seem like an upgrade on paper, in real life usage it IS an upgrade. When I wake in the morning I don't need to turn the light on in the room, all i have to do is unlock the phone and that is bright enough.

I am just blown away with the battery so far which was my greatest concern. I have averaged around 14 hours with 5+ hours of screen on time. With my S7 Edge, I was only averaging half of that. I struggled to break 3 hours of SOT. Extremely pleased so far!

Same exact numbers I was getting with the s7 edge vs what I'm getting my note 8.

I just got my Note 8... I have a S8+ and was a former Note 7 owner. My first impression of it is that the mere fact that the edge drops off more dramatically and less of angular edge as the S8+ makes it feel so different in the hand. I feel that the phone itself is significantly broader and it makes typing more pleasurable. I don't recall feeling quite the exact same way with the Note 7 and I do like the S8+ - but this feels real nice in the hand.

Not really a review, but that alone makes me happy that I am back to the Note family. :)
