Customer reviews of the Note 8

Loving it more each day and most definitely happy to be back in the Note family!!

Having never owned a Note I am curious to know if most of the apps I use on my S7edge will be available on the Note 8 that will soon be in my possession!

They should be. Samsung backup/google login will tranfer over or do the app smart switch.

at login i was asked if i wanted to use a backup import or start fresh. I choose backup and it re-downloaded all the apps. I just had to login in to each app. I imported my Nova settings backup from sd card and i was back in business in no time. All my photos are on SD and google photos. It was a seamless setup

Have you received your Galaxy Note 8 phone? Please share your reviews for those of us waiting to receive the phone. I have been a Note user since the Note 2 and now have a Note 4. I am anxious to hear from the users.

I got mine a week ago Wednesday, and I haven't been so in love since the Note 7. It's beautiful, and sleek, and fast. I thought the size would be a detractor, but am finding it no problem at all. And OMG, I got my S PEN back!!!

Also, I am not much of a camera gal, but I have to say, the selfies on this phone are pretty damn good. I usually hate selfies, but these may have changed my mind.
I was going to leave it stock touch wiz, but I am wed to my Nova launcher's set up, so put that back on.

Welcome to the forum. You will not find a better group of people to help you with all Android issues. And if you haven't yet listened to the podcast, do that. These guys are knowledgeable, and funny. I confess my favorite is Jerry, but I am biased (Hi Jerry!)

I wonder how the Note 8 runs tekken 6 on ppsspp emulator, as the Mate 9 runs it at 60fps no problem, if someone can test...

Note 8 does seems to be a great phone, but i'm having hard time to want to buy it, as the Mate 9 battery life is just too good to give up.

I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 8. I notice the tmobile boot logo and software takes away from the real feel of my phone. Is there any set backs to getting unlocked version?
Can I use all Tmobile features?

wow. this thing is stunning. can't turn it on yet because it arrived depleted and I'm charging, but I am so jazzed and can't wait to set it up.

Learning more from it each day. Jist started setting up some edge stuff. Im very glad to see they have the option the S8+ had with the select options for square, circle, gif in case you don't want to take the pen out .

Also first day using some of my work email on it and it's been simply flawless that way. Back to work full time tomorrow as we're back from vacation so it'll be great. This phone suits my needs perfectly

you will lose some of the Tmobile features, i am pretty sure you lose wiFi calling.

I love this phone... can't wait to see Samsung blow the iPhone out of the water... too bad colorful cases aren't out yet

I love the phone. I've even stopped missing the Note 7.

sadly, I haven't. while I'm warming up to the os on my N8, the fit for me was better with the N7. this one is heavier still and awkward for me to hold. my hand cramps. never had that with the N7. damn I miss it.

well, I've had my way with my N8 for almost 24 hours and the one thing I will say is wow it needs an update. so many app conflicts with swiftkey, and a few others. swiftkey blocks things and tries to get me to associate when I don't want to, which is REALLY bizarre since that's not their job. importing previous settings from apps has been fun too. serious update needed. still, it's really beautiful to look at.

Wouldn't problems with Swiftkey indicate a Swiftkey issue versus a Note 8 issue since it is something you added? Or is Swiftkey installed from factory? I am green to android and Samsung.

Still waiting here on mine any comments on carry im sure software will work out , this is a large phone maby a bit difficult to carry on the belt or waist ?

absolutely. several have noticed issues and notified them. for the little bit I had the issue it was crazy making. couldn't make the overlay go away to complete my task. it also blocks things by keeping the not panel active instead of auto-hiding it like I have it set to do. so there are several things I can't get to when texting etc. and these are the things that they need to fix.

Sammy/Google/Somebody, otoh, needs to send through an update too, from what I've seen so far. thing is it will be good for the mainstream, but I'm not going to take it (most likely) so I can root. imo Samsung took away quite a few abilities/permissions that I'd like to see restored. too many to list since I've been at this all day and last night. things with my N8 are just not quite as nice and tidy as they were before too (N7/N4). settings for some things too, as already noted by some forum members, are in very odd locations. the os just feels kinda thrown together and not thought out. all just opinions based on my needs and usage so no need for anyone to get offended or defense. my needs are quite specific and not the needs of the general population, for the most part.

beautiful screen, though. I have a case on so...

Loving mine. Have had since Thursday last week. I just got the defender case today and it carries very easily on the Belt/waist

I understand now what you are meaning. Hope Samsung jumps on things.
