Customer service closes at 9pm

When did Verizon start closing custumer service at 9 by phone? I called around 9:10 for an issue and they said that it closes at 9 and tried to direct me to chat with them instead.

I first noticed it a couple months ago in mid summer. The later evening was a good time to call... better reps and usually no wait.

The no wait is probably why they shut it down at 9, not enough call volume to justify the later hours.

I think it was 2 or 3 years ago, it's been a long time since they dropped the 24/7 support.

I think it was even farther back than this. Probably closer to 4 years. I just switched back to Verizon and was with ATT for 3 years and I think I remember then doing it shortly before my switch.

The OP wasn't talking about 24/7 customer service! It was the 11pm that was cut back to 9pm.
