cyanogen release candidate 1 has hit the streets!

Anyone having issues with installing some apps from the app market? A few random apps I have tried to install are getting stuck in a download/install loop.

Now that you mention it- yes. I've had that problem once in the last 24hrs. For me it was FPS2D- still can't get it to install via the market.

It was Vingette for me, took like 3 reboot and many reinstall attempts. And the beta 3 Flash would never install

I had to uninstall my flash and then manually install the flash apk in order to get it to work. I found the file on the xda forum. There's a thread devoted to cm6 tweaks.

ya i wiped everything.... then I restored all my apps with titanium.... i'll try not to restore with titanium thanks
yeah it got that message because I restored system data in titanium. I reflashed and just restored apps + data or something like that and no more issues for me.

Tried this today....Battery is just killed way too quickly, phone runs real hot. Per the thread at XDA they used the same kernel as the Nexus One, so may have to wait til they put the fix in for that.

Charge your battery all the way. Reboot into recovery. Wipe battery stats. Reboot. Let it drain till it shuts itself off. Charge it all the way and let it drain again. Your battery will improve. Cyanogen posted that over at xda.

Hmm, no idea.
Have you nand restoring and flashing again?

Battery at 65% and 13h 45min of pretty light usage on wifi and 50% brightness. Looking good. Most of it was overnight, but oh well.

Yup and my backup was doing the same krap so i restored back to my Custom Rom...

This sounds like a "Your mileage may vary situation" and doesn't solve the issue why the device is running hot. Just seems like an interesting to do for a Release Candidate. Think I'll hold out until it's official and they fix the kernel for the Evo.

when i bring up ROM manager, it still shows new nightlies for download, are these different than the RC's? or just not labeled correctly?

Market update REMOVES Market app?

Hi guys, I just installed the ROM. Everything worked great. I flashed the market fix (post #2) and now the market app has disappeared! I wiped & re-flashed the rom 3 times with the same results. I ended up going back to EVOlution V9 FroYo and market worked.

I also thought 802.11n was unlocked with this rom, but my router said I was still in 802.11g.
Tried flashing this enable zip; object.unoriented
but it just made wifi not work at all. I flashed the disable zip & it was back at G speeds. Any ideas? Do I have to go through the adb shell?

Thanks guys!

This is actually a tip for any Rom your using. Called calibrating your battery. Mine no longer runs hot.

I loved it while it worked... I rooted my EVO via the OTA-Simple root method and the first rom I installed was the 7/24/2010 nightly... all was well and I enjoyed it for the couple of days I had it on my phone. It was the third day and I was out for a bike ride and noticed somthing I wanted to take a picture of and found my phone to be completly unresponsive to any touch gestures. I attemplted to power down my phone and once the pop up to do so apeared I couldn't initiate it... Moments later I noticed my SD card was reporting to be damaged in the notification bar....

I pulled the battery and reset my phone and my SD card was still crapped out and the phone still wouldn't respond to any commands. I followed that up with another nightly and it only made it worse. By this time the first RC was out and I figured this should help with something and so I wiped the phone and installed the RC1 rom and it only further screwed up my phone....

Being new to all of this I decided I've had enough fun and unrooted my phone and returned it to "stock." Today is day two of doing so (just over 24 hours later) and my stock rom is displaying the same issues and I beleive one of two things must have happened. 1. I screwed somehting up.... I litterally rooted via simple root and installed a Rom (nightly CM6) less then 48 hours later it's just wacked!!!

Anyone with any insight, did I do somthing wrong?!?! I installed and paid for Rom Manager and gladly so... I have a new one coming soon (thanks Sprint Warrenty)

with simple root its really hard to screw anything up unless you didn't follow the directions somehow...

most likely your sd card did crap out and that could be causing a lot of your frustrations... i wouldn't blame it on rooting or CM6 though. there have been reports of a lot of SD cards having issues. I would say if you liked having CM6 and Froyo on your phone, when you get a new one root it and flash CM6 again. I haven't had any issues with mine and I know most people have been good to go.

You must be running different ROMs than I do. This is the first time I've ever had to do multiple steps to get the battery life normal.

Nope... followed all the steps, didn't deviate from the plan... Is there a way to wipe everything... I mean everything and start over? I want to re-root this phone now and mess around as much as possible so I essentially can practice before I get my new phone... at this point don't think I'll re-root my new one.. to much of a risk IMO.... Convince me otherwise....!

There's a sticky about how to start over. From scratch. But it's a PITA.

Help Please

Starting over SUX!!!!!! I've done it 3 times already... lame!!!

LOL I think we went over this already in another thread.

Use the Simple Root method (it worked for me) to root and then you can find any number of posts on here about flashing roms (some instructions vary on the ROM) and where to get Simple Root. I found out the hard way that searching the forums is your friend. I found myself asking tons of questions and all people did was link me back to other posts. (I think I still do this but I try to search first.)
