Cyanogenmod 7.1 release.

Yo krispy. 1 hour. 20 minutes screen on. 10% gone. So mathematically speaking. 10 hours with 3.3 hours of screen on. Give or take for different usage.

That was some messaging and a bit of web.

Edit: that's inside with 3 bars spotty signal.

FYI: Google Wallet doesn't run correctly in the background. I put my phone up to the machine and it didn't do anything. Every time I open the app (after a while) it says initializing for a second. I think the system is closing the service in the background.

Re: updating from rc1 cm7

If you were running a current nightly you should be good.I thought they were 2.3.7 for a bit already, could be wrong CM7 hasn't been my daily driver for a few weeks. .

You should always wipe the Dalvik cache, that doesn't do anything but make the first boot a bit longer.

Other than that, you only need to wipe data/cache when it's a big jump.

Cavet there, recent nightlies of CM7 and I would assume 7.1 stable have Google Wallet in there and while I know they were working on getting that installed without needing to do a complete wipe I'm not sure they got there yet. If you can't run Google Wallet or get any FCs you should backup and wipe data/cache.

Typically about every 5-10 builds of a ROM, I do a wipe data/cache. Might be just placebo but I feel like I get better overall stability doing that.

Don't forget your phone needs a few days to get used to a rom before it relearns everything. So battery life will not be any good the first day or 2. Once its settled then you can properly judge battery life

The first hour of 7.1 Stable was better than what I was getting on Nightly 131.

I like it. No problems with it so far. I'm only overclocked to 1.2ghz but not crashed or anything yet. I may kick it up to 1.44 later and see if ti crashes. Was having that issue with Netflix and Pandora.

Either way, stable build is good; and, now I can sit tight on one build instead of flashing a nightly every morning and testing it all day, lol. Probably will be good till ICS. :)

Edit: I know, short term battery experience; but: I touched my phone maybe 3-4 times in 30 minutes and I'm still at 99% battery. That would have never happened on the nightlies.

Sounds like better battery life to me... Good deal. I will wait and see what you guys come up with after a few days then maybe jump on board.

Definitely a good build. Second day running it now. No issues yet. I flashed mid day yesterday; so, I couldn't really say much for the battery as I didn't start from 100%. Today, though, started at 100% and wiped stats. Tomorrow will be the real test of battery once all is said and done with today.

One thing I did notice is it will charge off the wall to 100%. I wiped stats when I switched batteries yesterday; but, didn't have time to drain it completely. Woke up this morning and it was on 100% off the wall.

Cool.. Very cool.... Yep I've been playin with Oxygen 2.3 doing some theme work but I'm about finished so I can move onward to CM 7.1 if all stays good.

You can see there how the service jumps around within 10 seconds where I am. And that was outdoors. Up the block at Dunkin Donuts it'll hold full service solid with no jumping around. So, needless to say where I am testing battery life is iffy. But, that, for here: is pretty good.

Hmm. Google voice search isn't working for me. Tried to reinstall. Will load up but as soon as I speak and it processes it fcs. Vlingo works though.

I saw your post and tried mine and it seems to work. Did you just get the 7.1.0.1 update that just came over? I didn't try the search until after I updated though...

Very odd.

Mine is working, as a matter of fact, I got it to search "existential" and it got it right.

Odd indeed.

Sounds like something deep in the system got borked... Time for a complete wipe of everything x3 and start over....

It happens sometimes... We had this issue on the Epic 4g's from time to time where even a wipe wouldn't resolve it and it required having to Odin the device back to bone stock and then root again and flash your ROM to resolve certain things....

Is there a netarchy kernel for 2.3.7?

Funky issues today now. Booo! Screen black. Needed to pull battery. Screen stuck on unresponsive. Screen stuck on funky 8 bit color looking unresponsive.

Flashed back to stick. Krispy I've been using netarchy 1.4.0 on 2.3.7 since 2.3.7. No issues here.
