Good Morning

My Micro SD card has tons of pics of my kids and a recent birthday party. Today, it stated the card is "damaged" and that i should reformat it. After reviewing many forums stating I should format the disc to get it back to oriignal format, then use a recovery program to extract what data I could. I followed the steps on my phone, and the card is still not being picked up by the phone or PC. When I clicked to format the drive, the phone nevr gave me a confirmation really, so I'm not even sure if this worked or not. Has nayone seen this? I would greatly appreicate any insight. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
You might be able to repair the SD card by inserting into your PC, and right clicking the card. Press Properties>tools>repair

If it isn't being recognized by your phone OR your pc, then it may indeed be gone.
G-Parted is the best program for formatting SD cards, in my opinion. It's Linux, but you can burn a disc to boot your pc into Linux, and then try to use G-Parted. Of course if you are able to salvage it by reformatting it, then everything you currently have on that card will be wiped. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable using the card any more even if you are able to save it by reformatting. It's not a common issue, and I simply wouldn't be able to trust a card with my data if it's already failed me in the past! What brand, size, and speed is the card that failed you?
