Was talking to a friend and telling them I pre-ordered a Galaxy S8 +, and they told me they were going to Verizon to get a new phone, but not a Samsung. They offered to wipe it and see if Verizon would onlock it. Looks in great shape. Price would be $150.00. It is the S7Edge

I pre-ordered a S*+ at Best Buy. Can I cancel it without penalty (activated through ATT). Will I have problems getting it activated at ATT? And anything I need to look out for before I do the deal?

Never done something like this

Verizon S7 / S8 phones are already unlocked. No need to get them unlocked.

As for your question on activation .. You mean will you get in trouble for activating their S7 Edge on your AT&T line? The answer would be no.

Edit: could not understand relevance of title, then I understood that you actually thought there was a danger when buying someones used s7.. which is pretty laughable but no, no danger.

Cancel your pre order and enjoy your pre owned s7 edge.

Thank you. I know enough to go look at storage on the phone under settings and I think what I can do is take my old SIM card out of the HTC One M8 and put it in this and I don't have to activate through AT&T. Is that correct? I told her to erase everything after her stuff is transferred to the new phone and then I think I could go into the phone and go reset it to factory default? I guess then it would update at some point or I can force an update to an operating system?. I know to turn it off, turn it on, adjust the volumes, try to play some music, take photos with it, I guess there's not too much I can do about battery or battery life but if it last me a year hey I've got my money's worth.

Jump all over that S7 edge for $150, that's a great price

Big bummer! Swapped out sim cards and powered up and even got a text message on the Samsung. Put, it showed S6 Edge. She never took the cover off and thought she had the newest model. Nope, the S6. Was in great shape, but I would not be happy with a now two-year old model, and it is smaller than the new S8+ and about as big as my HTC One M8. So rather than save $600, I think I'll stick with the new one that arrives next week
