Dark Status Bar

Tried this and got the same thing... until I remembered to open bootstrap. D'oh. I did that, then went back in rom manager, flashed the clockworkmod, installed with a back up, done. Black bar looks awesome, but, uh, the time read out on the bar is black, as are the scrolling email notifications.

I'm using that bar and the clock is white on mine. Maybe try to do it again?

Mine are all white too. Hmm try it again. Not sure how it could mess up but that would sure suck if you can't read it.

Sexy in...errrr...almost all black? There's the clock. Another thing also its when i pull down the notification window, the words "verizon wireless" and the date are black, too. I've tried reinstalling several times and get the same result. I can't seem to download a new copy either. Every time I try it just opens the file I already have.

I wonder if the problem is that I downloaded the original file before I jumped up to froyo. Could that be an issue?

I decided to install flyx on top of froyo and bang - black status bar.

I guess the question now is, what exactly is flyx? The phone is absolutely flying now, but I don't notice any cosmetic changes other than the boot animation.

Yea I have Flyx. I believe you need that or another deodexed rom to run the black bar so im guessing that's why it did work right. Flyx got rid of some junk and gave us a new boot screen. Other than that I don't know but I like how things are slowly coming together and we can have fun with the x now.

I downloaded rom manager , then downloaded onix concepts , my phone cut off came back on then the normal screen came up . and in rom manager there was an error message. WHATS UP? anything special i have to do? im running 2.1 update 1 rooted!

I'm a complete amateur here, but the M Screen freeze happened to me when I first tried to backup 2.1 with clockworkmod before installing Froyo. I did a battery pull and it booted right up. Then I opened bootstrapper, tapped "bootstrap recovery", hit the home button, opened ROM Manager, tapped "Flash CLockworkMOD Recovery, and got the "Success" pop-up. Then I downloaded and ran the Froyo upgrade (with "back up system" and "wipe data and cache" checked and it worked without issue. Following the same "open bootstrapper, tap bootstrapper recovery, flash clockworkmod recovery, proceed" I was able to install the black status bar (with a few errors on my part) and FlyX.

All of those Onix ROMs that are available for download have that statement atop the page that says they are all compatible with 2.2 (paraphrasing here), so maybe you need to run the froyo upgrade before attempting these themes when you get back in? Like I said though, I'm an amateur. I would certainly research this in the hacks section where the gurus operate and dispense invaluable advice and tips throughout each day. That have helped me immensely.

well i am in recovery mode and have pushed so many sytem resets that the only thing i can do is try to start over from scratch . but i pushed system restore(factory) and now im stuck on a screen with the android bot and a triangle with a exclamation mark

Don't have my X yet, but on the D1, you hold the power button down and then press the camera button halfway down to get to the recovery screen from the ! screen.

While on that screen, hit the search button and the menu will pop up.

well after playing with the phone . i finially was able to restore to a point in the phones history when i backed up clockwork mod . now the only problem is i reported my phone lost , and paid to have a replacement phone shipped . After fixing my phone i went to verizon to unlock the esn so i can use it again , they said its impossible to do that ! can someone tell me how to unlock this phone !! it has all my stuff and apps and root. i want my phone back!!

Why did you report your phone lost? And I don't think you can unlock the ESN to use it again, otherwise people would be reporting their phones lost (and claiming another on insurance) and selling them on ebay left and right or even selling stolen phones on there.

i was able to call the phone company and get my phone fixed. i was able to reboot in recovery , and restor to a previous version before i messed with my phone. and was able to call company to getr my esn turned back on . only it will take 24 hours. so i think i have seen the end to my messing with my phone .
