Dark theme

Anyone found a way to get a dark theme on the G7? My G6 had dark as an option in the theme menu, while the G7 only has two preinstalled themes, neither of which is dark.

I found and downloaded the LG SmartWorld app (why that's not preinstalled, nor available in the Play Store I can't understand) but the themes on there are pretty disappointing.

I just want dark menus, not blinding white menus.

mine came with a pure black background out of the box. I was very happy as that is what I usually go for all the time. if home page filled with stuff, why waste a picture or something under the icons. makes seeing icons easier for me.

Are you talking about the wallpaper or system wide black theme? Because I haven't seen any black theme option out of the box.

There is one on the LG SmartWorld app called Luxury Black. But I didn't like the shiny rings it leaves around the icons.

Awesome !!! Thank you exactly what I was looking around. I use Nova launcher so don't care about theme icons but now everything looks so much better with dark UI thru out the system

Use a different icon pack
Nova launcher and many other launchers let you choose what ever icon pack you want.

Ohhhh.... I didn't know you were using Nova. I gotcha now.

You're talking about the rings in the wallpaper, right? I have the luxury theme applied because it's the darkest I can find, but yes, those rings in the wallpaper are not ideal and quite ugly. Not sure who thought that was a good idea. I have different icons applied as well as part of the Microsoft Launcher, but the wallpaper in the menus remains.

There is high contrast setting similar to the dark theme in V30.

Go to settings > accessibility > vision > enable high contrast screen.

It will initially change your existing wallpaper black but you can apply your wallpapers back. Enjoy the dark theme.

Just found a new dark them in the LG SmartWorld app... Viking Shield. So far, I'm liking it!

You can download LG themes through the Google Play store as well. Here's one that looks promising: Alpha Substratum Theme by Mark Bencze. I think more will follow as the phone is out longer.

I am using the Alpha for Substrantum theme. It's amazing. Obviously it's built for the LG devices and is easy to set up and use. It is a paid app as well as the companion app to enable Substrantum, but it's worth the few dollars to support development. You should check it out.

You can download Pixel Black theme from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.wsdeveloper.g7.pixeldark. I think it is the best dark theme for G7 in playstore.

You can go in to setting General>Accessibility>Vision>enable high contrast screen. That will make it look like the LG G6's black theme and than you just pick your wall paper.
