I have been with AT&T for 3 years on an iPhone with Unlimited data for $30. I bought an AT&T Skyrocket and kept my unlimited but now my bill reads Data Unlimited for 4G LTE Smartphones at $40.

My bill has gone up $10 a month since; have you guys experienced this at all?

I'm not happy and to top it off, I've been at the past couple months I've been at 2.1, 2.2 and at 2.1gig the past couple months of data usage and now i get the 5% top data users message... meaning I'll be throttled soon.... I'm sick of AT&T and their bull!

Really. Never seen such a plan. Can you provide a photo. I'd like to see the coding/naming of the plan.

I've had it for a few months and i've googled it, but i can't find anything on a 4G $40 unlimited plan.

That must be a new one. Yet another way they're trying to get people out of unlimited data plans.

I have an unlocked Motorola Milestone (from Telus) in which I'm using AT&T simcard that was meant for Samsung Impression, a non-smartphone with unlimited $15/mth data plan. If I place my simcard into a newer smartphone like an unlocked AT&T Skyrocket, would I get 4g/lte speed while still paying $15/mth like I am with an unlocked smartphone? My only concern that even though it's unlocked, it's an AT&T phone that might make me change my data plan.

First, unless that's a new SIM that has LTE capability, you won't get LTE. I'm not sure you would evevn get 3G. Second, even though the phone is unlocked, it still maintains it's identity. Among other things, it's needed for app compatibility in the Play store. So AT&T will recognize it as a smartphone and will either switch your data plan automatically or contact you about switching it.

Thanks for the reply. It's an old simcard but I do get 3G from my Telus Moto Milestone here in California. I was thinking of getting a used LG Nitro since they are so low from Ebay. But since you answered my question that I can't get 4G with the lower price data plan, then I might upgrade to a new phone like the upcoming HTC One XL. Although I wish we know what upcoming Verizon smartphone for 2012 since you can get 4gigs for $30.
