Bought the phone yesterday, activated this morning. I have been a note 4 user for 6 months. I still have the note of course and will be trying pure stock android for few weeks.

One thing is for sure, this phone is so snappy and Smooth. ZERO lag and things just flow so pleasantly. Definitely a huge advantage vs Note 4. But one thing I noticed right away, Note 4 screen is so much more clear and crispier.

All in all, very pleasant with day one as Nexus 6 my main driver. Just so darn fast and smooth.

Agree on the display front. The Nexus 6 display is just so off in terms of color. Screens with white content look yellow at high brightness levels and pink and lower levels. But it is pretty smooth from the short amount of time I've used it.

Try using a custom rom with encryption turned off. It's gets even faster and smoother. :) Maybe not by a lot, but I like to save every millisecond I can. Not that I need to, I just like to. But yeah, it's one of the fastest devices around and will continue to be for a while. Even the Nexus 5 with it's 18 month old processor is pretty darn fast and can still hold it's own against today's flagship phones. Pure Android on a Google sanctioned device is second to none when it comes to speed and efficiency. I could never use a non-Google phone with a skin/overlays. It would bug the crap out of me.

I can't say anything about the display being inferior, as it looks great to me. Maybe people are just super picky.

Anyways, welcome to the good side and enjoy.

Once you've used a better display and have to go back to an inferior one like the Nexus 6's, it's very noticeable.

Don't get me wrong. The display on Nexus is good. Just can't be compared to Note 4. I have both devices and I can clearly see a difference between the two.

If you're comparing side-by-side and really admire the Note 4 screen, then so be it. But I really believe most people would find the Nexus 6 screen more than acceptable. It is afterall, a 2K Amoled screen. Far from crap. I personally don't analyze the minutiae of screens, I'm using my device as a daily driver. The N4 screen would be wasted on me.

I have to agree. The Nexus 6 display is very nice.

Every two smartphones I've ever held next to each other, I can see something on one that is lacking in the other. My solution is not to hold two side by side.
Problem solved lol. Not like I'm doing photo editing on the things.

Note 4 is now in hibernation hehehehe. So far so good and Nexus 6 is all about the software experience and this phone excels at that.

Not bad for day one of heavy use. Closer to 4.5 hours of screen on time.

The color thing is mostly just a software calibration issue. Color controls should be part of core Android, but most every custom kernel available now allows for full color controls. And most of the management tools come with a list of color profiles to choose from. It is an easy thing to 'fix'.

You need to unlock your boot loader and root your phone, then install a custom kernel and make changes to it. That's not an easy task for most users. And it shouldn't be necessary, or an excuse for OEMs to supply their phones with sub-par panels

I agree about N6 display, pink at low brightness is annoying, direct sunlight is also pretty bad compared to my OPO

Need to use custom kernel to mod the colors but I am on 5.1.1 and kernel source wasn't even released by Google yet

Ok, I am seriously impressed with battery life on Nexus 6. Screen on time 5 hours 20 minutes with 8% left. Usage been around texting, twitter, Web browsing, and little bit of YouTube and skype. Not bad at all.

How much total usage? As in, how long was it on standby?

How about a "day 5 update?" :)

Hahaha, I'm hooked on stock android. Seriously love the pure android experience. Phone just as fast and smooth as can be. Again, I was never a heavy user of S pen or multi window features on the note 4, so didn't lose much as a result of this transition. Note 4 back in the box and I'm a nexus user from now on.

Just made the swap to the nexus 6. Was fed up of all the lag on the note 4 and i might never again leave stock Android.

Yes the hardware on the note 4 is superior but the little annoyances add up after a few month.

Welcome to the good side! I'm loving it so far. Hardware is actually identical but nexus 6 is much much faster and smoother. I am even leaving stock launcher and have not installed Nova Prime yet. Kind of liking everything working the way it was intended to.

I agree 100% it lagged for the last time today and I just went out and bought the nexus 6. Note 4 going on sale tonight.

The difference in experience is night and day. And that's what's most important for me.
