Daydream VR Promo from Verizon?

Just checked my status through Verizon's rebate/promo website and it was updated.

My Status now says "Valid" and my Status Detail was updated to "You're valid and going through final processing. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate."

So... Maybe before Thanksgiving?

Whooo hooo, finally got approved. I submitted 10/21. Still don't have the email, just found this by compulsively checking. I guess we are still not clear on what is being sent to us the product or a card. Based on this, I hope it is the actual headset -- arriving on or around the 10th based on the release date.

I got an email from Verizon this morning that said they couldn't process my rebate that I submitted on the 21st. Started up a online chat & they told me the receipt I scanned & sent to them was blurry & they couldn't see the info. The agent asked me for the info & typed it in. Once they did that, it was resubmitted on their end.

I look now & this is listed:

When I talked to them about that, they said that it was only for devices put on a device patent plan, it even alludes to that on the offer page. But they said I could do that (payment plan) and then pay off the balance after I got my Daydream. So I might do that. Of course, since it's interest free payments, I might as well stick with that.

Got this email late last night

Did you try submitting online and get rejected?

I haven't gotten the device yet, which you need to do before you can submit for the offer. It says it right on the offer page, something to the effect of when you upgrade to a Pixel on a device payment plan. The csr I talked to even said the language actively disqualified people buying at full price.

Looking at SteelGator's post below, I can see how that would work as well because on a 2 year contract you put so much down and the balance is paid off over the remaining 2 years.

Would love to know so if it's a visa card I can just pick up a daydream somewhere on the 10th before t goes on backorder and God knows when it will ship

And I bought mine on a corporate plan. I called my rep prior to placing my order to ensure I would qualify. He said I would and noted my account as such. That clinched my decision to preorder.

I haven't been lucky today... Verizon said my Rebate was invalid. That my device doesn't qualify.

I ordered my PixelXL within a hour after the MadeByGoogle event on the 4th. The Verizon Store didn't even have pricing entered into their system, but I got it ordered. When back on the 6th and paid for the taxes and fees after they got the pricing entered. then got mine on the 20th and they activated it for me. was the 1st one from our store. Right after that I finished my rebate promo submission for the Daydream View. Used the Receipts they gave me from both the day I paid for it and another copy on the day I received it int he store. Also Uploaded the Barcodes. All was legible.
Yet...
For some reason my submission for it was declined.

So I called them up this morning. The customer support guy from the Rebate Center reviewed the receipts & Barcodes I gave them and looked at my account and said that I did qualify for it. He told me that he would resubmit it for review and that I would hear back from them by Friday. Said I could still use my same Tracking number to check it. Yet... It still right now says that it is Invalid. The status has not changed. Now I am wondering if he did not resubmit it. I really hope I do not miss out on this. After all I order mine on day one for preordering at Verizon and followed the directions to a tee. Was even told that it was valid by the Customer Support. So if I miss out because of someone clerical error I will be pretty upset.
I also contacted Verizon Customer Support through Twitter and we exchanged a few DM's. They said they were also going to look into it. I hope they do.

Anyways... If the status of it does not change by tomorrow I will be calling them back. Its a bit frustrating to say the least.

I was notified yesterday that mine was invalid because my phone is a BLACK 128 pixel. And that's the only reason two different reps told me. I have this issue escalated in CS. The only way to see this is AFTER you buy the phone and put in Google gift and click a small box about exclusions. I made another tread about this but I'm disappointed to see I'm not the only one having issues.

I too was notified that mine was invalid but I clicked on the link in the email and hit support and they looked up my information and said they will resubmit and to check on it within the next 5 days.

I'm getting a physical daydream. I would think they will send that unless they run out then switch to an account credit or gift card.

I have not gotten mine yet, nor have I gotten a shipping notification yet. AC and DL seem to like it a lot, AP a little more lukewarm.

Here were the general findings that caught my eye

• Everybody seems to agree Daydream moves the category forward
• Excellent design / comfortable
• Light bleed is there, worse with smaller Pixel
• Pixels get hot while using
• Very limited content to start with, reviews mixed as to the quality
• The remote improves interaction over the Gear VR, some say a big improvement

Free is the perfect price for an accessory like this. Personally I am excited to get mine. Samsung nerfed my Gear the day it arrived because of the Note 7 issues, so other than demoing at a Samsung experience, I have not be able to play with these phone VR systems.
