ARCHIVED: [DEAD ROM] LEGO-ROM-v2

OK when I flashed beezy's 806 kernel the sprint splash junk came back. I had removed that from Lego-Rom using a rom kitchen. Being I just got my boot animation to work correctly I was going to flash back to Xionia kernel to get rid of the sprint splash again. Well the sprint splash is still there, but more importantly my boot animation is borked again! It looks to be a kernel thing  not a rom or placement method.

EDIT.... Went back to beezy's 806 kernel and well sprint splash is there, but my boot animation is fixed! Something in Xionia kernel freezes my animation when it reaches its end, rather then looping it to start over like in beezy's 806 kernel, hmmm.

x2. When using ThunderRom and Beezy's the animation will loop. When using Xionaia it freezes at the end.

I'd like to remove mine as well. What is a "Rom kitchen"?

Are you using Ubuntu for a OS on your PC? The kitchen runs on Linux :)

Beezy said this morning that new kernels will be uploaded that does not have the sprint splash in them. I have the 806 kernel that was posted today without the sprint splash in it (removed it with kitchen). If beezy doesnt mind I will upload it for downloads.

just making sure, so it's something within the rom right? the pattern problem won't be solved by not flashing the kernal?

Hang in there guys. I am going to try to rebuild reboot mod from scratch in an effort to fix the pattern unlock hot reboot. For now, just don't use it.

Also, on my phone, when I hit Power Off, the phone reboots instead of turning off lol.

Mine shuts off properly. What is your setup? Any themes? My old themes don't work with reboot mod. Only the current ones one the second post.

I just installed LEGO ROM. Seems to work fine :P is anyone else having this problem?

Negatory. Just jumped back to a nand of LEGO. No theme, jit + acceleration buildprop, stock kernel. Power, reoobt, recovery all work fine.

I'm going to think out loud here and put my thoughts down. See what others think .....

So someone requested a deluxe buildprop that disables HTTP for stagefright. This fixed the green lines in youtube but completely negates the whole reason you'd want a deluxe buildprop, for compatibility with streaming apps made for froyo. By fixing the green lines your break that functionality for streaming froyo apps  for that reason I'm probably going to remove the buildprop. It serves absolutely no purpose and adds confusion. People will flash it thinking "cool I'm running deluxe, i can use NPR" but the reality is, its a version of deluxe that wont stream NPR at all. Makes no sense to have it around right??

So that got me thinking, if i take the buildprop, enable JIT, acceleration, stagefright, then disable all of stagefright EXCEPT HTTP, you now have a buildprop thats the best of all worlds. It would have the green line on youtube BUT you're not breaking support for any current formats the phone supports stock and you're adding support for froyo streaming apps.

I hope my logic hasn't confused anyone but i just wanted to write it down.

noticed..on that buildprop as well..the app market gets the "attention-warning" to retry or cancel (just to load up the market..)
(tested by going back to reg. then using the old deluxe, and going back to the new one) and yea it effects market..(this is besides the issues thats been going on with market it self.) yes even did the menu-apps- market-clear, etc..etc..

so i agree with ksmith on his point..on his venting. lol.

well crap. Unfortunately it cant be done. If you enable HTTP you need to enable everything otherwise youtube is a screwed up mess. If you enable everything but disable HTTP youtube works great but you negate the point by breaking streaming in apps like winamp. It's a lost cause. I tried about every combination of true false i could think of and no go ..... I tried guys.

Not seeing that behavior at all (I'm the one the suggested/requested the stagefright minus HTTP buildprop). I've been running with that enabled since last night, and the Market works fine with no warnings at all. You sure that wasn't just due to the issues with the Market in general earlier? I find it hard to believe that the Market would require stagefright in any way at all, since a LOT (the majority) of Android phones in the wild don't even have the ability to use it.

KSmith, is there any advantage to stagefright for the other components besides HTTP streaming? Like, are there any internal (local to the phone) things that are sped up at all with stagefright on? I could personally care less about NPR, so doesn't affect me at all either way. Much more concerned about proper video streaming. Does Winamp work properly with HTTP disabled in stagefright?
