i only get 564 points on the quadrant standard test how do i get mine as fast as the pictures? (all the way to the top of the leader board)

You have to have stagefright enabled. If I remember correctly, stagefright is a method of audio decoding that leads to a skipped a test in quadrant. This produces the high scores you see. There really isn't a big performance gain with it. Don't worry about quadrant scores.

Hmm. I think that's about the extent of the phones capabilities (until Gingerbread is released ).

Unless you change the internal file structure of the phone from yaffs2 to ext4, gingerbread offers no speed increase. It's purely UI changes and different media support. The speed increase in the nexus s comes from ext4 internal file structure (from everything I've read anyway)

It was froyo that offered the cross-device speed boost due to the just in time compiler.

I read somewhere that they improved JIT compilation.

EDIT: Just watched the official youtube video on Gingerbread. They labeled it their "fastest version of Android yet" and Dalvik virtual memory now uses "Concurrent Garbage Collection offering minimized application pauses, smoother animations, and increased responsiveness." I'm definitely looking forward to Gingerbread

i tried to flash the Steel My Elegance theme over nROM and now im stuck at boot with two green little antenna things on the bottom of the screen please help me i flashed the nROM over it now i get a pop up when i unlock from boot that says "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX!

You need to flash v1.2 then v1.3.3. Then wait ten minutes for me to release an update for SME.
