The button on the side is mapped to "call." :o I didn't know that it had something assigned to long press. Long press search on the bottom right for voice to text.

Since I have Quick Settings installed, my long press Search button is mapped to itself. Any way I can get the long press side button to work as it should?
Thanks. :)

Hello Nick.
Thanks for the link.
My problem is not that the button is not mapped correctly (it is), but however when I long press the side voice key. The voice dialer would start and just hangs - (keeps on saying Starting up, but won't let you talk)
Any ideas?

I'll let you know, I'm working on some theme stuff but I'll get on that next.

If I'm on ThundeROM do I need to do a complete wipe prior to flashing this ROM? I know I did it with my Moment but want to double check...

thanks

I feel your pain. I had the Moment for two years. However SDX Developers made my time with the Moment a lot more enjoyable :)

Anyways, good to hear that you are up and running!

I raised enough pain about the moments radio issue, I only had one for ~ 2 months...

Released v1.3.3 with a few goodies. If you are running v1.3.2 you can just flash over your current setup with no hassle. Everyone else, please follow directions on the OP :) Enjoy!

swg0101: long press the search button from the four main hardware buttons to get voice to text.

EDIT: Also I want to know what you guys want out of nROM. Let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen!

I abosolutely love your rom best rom for this phone, i have no complaints what so ever. i just really want you to add the gingerbread keyboard instead of froyo. And im not sure if you could add usb tethering as well.

Great :) Please flash this zip file for the gingerbread keyboard. Keep in mind that it will overwrite the froyo keyboard though. As for the wired tether, it's an ongoing process :( Any progress that is made will be posted. For now I highly recommend PDAnet on the android market place.

i just bought that lol PDAnet works great. and no problem i like both keyboards. I am going to throw a REview of the phone up with your ROm running on it. ITs my first review so be gentle just though it would be nice to see a fast Rom runnning on a great phone post the link in a sec

Awesome! keep me posted.

First I would like to thank you for the ROM. I like everything about it except coming from ThundeRom I would have approximately 130MB of internal memory free with that ROM and now have around 20MB free with the same exact apps installed. I wiped everything before flashing (I like to start fresh) then wiped the dalvik-cache like you posted in the OP. I would like to know if there was something that went wrong with the installation of the ROM and if there is something that I could do to get that space back. Thank you.

ok so with the new update this rom is even better nick!!! Thanks a million for all the hard work to make my phone run smooth as silk....specially since im now on number 2! Works flawlessly!!!

Yes something went wrong! Do this for me. Go into recovery and execute the following commands in an adb shell to ensure that the mod will work.
Code:
cp -f /data/dalvik-cache/ /cache/dalvik-cache/
rm -f /data/dalvik-cache/

Glassbowl: I'm glad that you like it :)

Nick7, I'm currently running ThundeROM 1.5, but it looks like we aren't going to see a 1.6 any time soon o.O

So, what would be the benefits of nROM 1.3.3 over ThundeROM 1.5, just out of curiosity?

Performance wise - none. It all comes down to preference. nROM has a different theme, some pre-installed applications, the voice control key mapped to "call." Your best bet would be to try it for a day and see if you like it.

Although I am always looking for new ways to improve performance and an open for suggestions!
